We were there for 2:20 in total I think, didn't realise til leaving. Was a very thorough eye exam that highlighted some issues, then problems ordering the frames etc. Everything just ran on
Expensive examination that! Oops hope the optician didn't sting you aswell!

Anyone know what the fine is for over staying on asda? Spent 2 hours at the optician and completely forgot :(
This is the current sign (taken half an hour ago).

Might be worth asking at the Customer Service desk. If they say they can't do it anymore, then that would form the basis of an appeal, i.e. incorrect signage.

But surely the assumption is that you "just ask" BEFORE exceeding the two hour limit.

It states that you can ask instore for longer than the 2 hours.

If that's correct, then there is nothing lost by asking retrospectively. If it's not correct, then the signage is incorrect and incorrect signage is grounds for challenging the charge.
Hawk,
I understand that incorrect signage might be grounds for challenging a charge but if one couldn't "just ask" for an extension then one surely couldn't expect one.

As I understand it the fine can't be enforced if their signs lie. Therefore if the sign says you can get more than 2 hours by asking, but you then ask and they say they can't, then that is the grounds for an appeal.

TBH I was there over the allotted time, thats fair enough, I often use that car park for town although I also usually pop in as well.

Yes, but tek-monkey "spent 2 hours at the optician and completely forgot" which isn't that "you then ask and they say they can't".
I don't know why people don't just pay up.

It doesn't state you can't ask retrospectively. If you go in and ask and they say no then the sign isn't accurate.

The limit is there to stop you using it as work parking really, not to stop you being a legitimate customer

is the Sainsbury carpark still free in the evening? I've got a evening do next week and it's been so long I've forgotten where you can now park or not.

The "no return in 1 hour" rule is the most stupid one. Suppose you leave the car park then realise you've forgotten to buy something or lost something in the store. You go back in and boom, £70 fine.

It’s always been a bit unclear as to whether the no return rule applies if you return within the original stay window or not…
