Sadly missed - Disco's. The Riverside disco's, under 18 Friday nights, over 18 Saturday nights. The Uni club, the 'Rock' box. The old skating rink on Chell road. As already mentioned, North and Southend clubs. The Yeoman, Top of the world and the Grasshopper suite. Them were the days lol.

50,000th poster!
My god that brought back a few memories, the roller skating club, bombing around to carolina moon, and lucozade and cheese and onion crisps up on the stage at the end, coming of the floor into the room on the right of the stage at 9o miles an hour (well bloody fast any way) my first sight of girls with naked legs, adolescent heaven!

ah yes the yeoman, can you believe that late 60s coach parties would arrive from various parts of the county for a good night out.....

I've noticed that the coach parties go straight to Tesco these days and whilst waiting for the pick-up they start consuming bread and it's certainly not the value variety, they must be hard working folk....

We don't seem to have missed Harvey's bookshop in Market Street so far. I preferred it to The Works. I felt that had a better selection from my point of view.

Anyone else remember 'Rags and Tatters' in that yard down the side alley near the Odeon? There was always an interesting array of little shops there, which have all disappeared over the years.
The record shop that was there was called Good Deals at that time and has since moved up to Wolverhampton Road and is now called Collectable Records. It is run by Tim these days as Phil lives in the States now, but returns fairly regularly. In the Bailey's Yard days there was space in the shop for a couple of pinball machines as well.

There was also B Sharp clothing - for those who cared what they looked like.

Does anyone remember the shop up St Mary's passage (excuse the espression) towards the Bird. It used to sell retro stuff. I bought a couple of suede waistcoats with tassles and a leather waist coat from there. They used to sell affro jackets and sixties stuff. Not cheap either. Very hippyish. It may have been called Dragonfly?

We still have The Bizness on Mill Street in a similar vein. Pop in there for all your wierd clothing requirements and young Mr Halliwell will sort you out. Old Mr Halliwell started it in off in one of those little shops in the front of the Sandonia. Closed all day on Wednesdays - and at random times on other days.

'Do you need a boost of confidence, to empower your personality ?', he asks.

I would certainly listen to his advice in that direction! There's a man who knows about confidence, if I ever saw one. Top bloke, should have been born in America.

Indeed, the art is in creating a virtuous, rather than a vicious, circle*, as I'm sure JC would tell you.

*More probably an outward spiral, perhaps. Who want's to go round in a circle?

Cocky i'd say, and yes he should have been born in America. What a crock of .... !

He is exactly the sort of person that Derren Brown warns you against. I'm all for entrepreneurial adventures but he's just a con man.
