Jenks used to be just past Boots, somewhere near Ottakers, oops Waterstones! Now who remembers that they had the Freeway burger bar upstairs in the 70's? Very nice and posh. Then they had the Jenks Wine Bar on the ground floor.Thehooperman said:I remember going to Jenkinsons for birthday partys in the 70s. Which building was it?John said:Jenkinsons? Yes it was Stantons and I used to get my lunch their, pasty and chips, 45p as I remember for it was a real treat and big hole in my wages for the days work in my Saturday job at the organ shop next door to Bagnalls. It then changed to the 3 cooks I think?age'd parent said:Nah jenks was too posh for us common lads, Stoofer got it, it was Stantons.John said:Jenkinsons?
