Scout Summer Fete Entertainment

A few posts under my belt
Hi All, We're busy organising the annual scout summer fate again which attracts hundreds of local residents/cubs/scouts/explorers/leaders etc on Saturday 30th June from 2:00pm onwards.

Alongside all the traditional and more modern stalls, we put on a range of entertainment in the central arena situated outside for everyone to watch and enjoy thoroughout the afternoon.

Does anyone have any ideas of something a bit different. We try to keep each act/display to about 10 mins or so and we've already got a zumba display and karate display.

If anyone is interested in getting involved or has any ideas we would really appreciate your help. Currently trying to find dog training, ferret racing, basically anything that will keep the kids (and parents!) entertained...so again any contacts/ideas would be gratefully received :o)

Thanks in advance,

Emma

Currently trying to find ... ferret racing...
Not next weekend but the one after that (13th May) there is

Shire horse logging, Ferret racing and birds of prey. Meet the experts from Staffordshire Wildlife Trust and other environmental organisations. Experience traditional country craft demonstrations and activities. With willow weaving, pole turning, wool spinning and children's craft workshops. Join themed guided walks along the new Woodland Trail.

Might be worth going along and making some contacts?

Is this the event based at Shugborough, or was that purely just girl guides?

Can you PM me some further details, specifically the date and your budget etc. I may just be able to help...

Thanks for your reply highguyuk. It's based at the Scout hut in Walton on the Hill.

Can you let me know how I send a PM (I'm new to this forum, sorry!).

Thanks again.

Benefit Dog Training do some very good displays at various events - training, flyball, heelwork to music and staying safe around dogs. Not all at once - one or other of above, depending on audience. You can contact through their website: www.benefitdogs.co.uk

Is it at the place with the tennis courts outside on the Milford Road (facing the nursery) ?

Might have a wander down, sounds like it's going to be a good afternoon :)

Yes, that's the one :) It all kicks off at 2:00pm and you're guaranteed a great time if you come along!
