I'll be leaving Astonfields by 8am (hopefully...) . Always been in massive queues on beaconside from Marston Road to stone road island a that time in the past when heading for the M6, but heard on the traffic news the other day there's now road work lights causing problems as well (??)

Now pouring with rain with a bit of sleet in it here the past hour.

There was some white stuff coming down when I looked out at 2.45am.

Just been out to add to the wheelie bin...watch it out there folks, the uncleared roads and pavements are lethal!

Radio Stoke traffic news always say that the delays on Beaconside are caused by "road works & temporary traffic lights" when describing the 3way lights at the new estate.

I prefer to describe them as mental illness as they were installed 7 months before the roadworks are due to start. suppose we should be thankful they didn't put the cones out at the same time.

Couldn't stand up in Frankley services carpark earlier. Thick solid ice under about 9" of slush all across it.

Our street was icing back over at 4.15pm.

Snowing again at the moment here and quite a lot coming down. :( Got a 2.30am start to Birmingham airport. Took the snow shovel and grit out of the car earlier , thinking we had seen the back of the snow for a while and making more space. Better put everything back in again before we start off !

Just had about 15mm dumped on Woodseaves in about as many minutes. Still coming down but not quite as thickly as it was 5 minutes ago.

I'm watching it as I type, the paths are covered and the grass is disappearing,
big flakes and lots of them, no sign of it slowing up, what with freezing as well
it's not looking good for tomorrow, I'm glad I bought an extra bottle of Bacardi.

Just driven home with my boss from Stoke - took us 2hrs or there abouts, very slippy roads and she let me out on Lichfield rd because we sat through the light changing 3 times and we wern't moving.

Hopefully the forecast over night means it will continue to thaw

Me , son and his girlfriend have been out with snow shovels , brushes , grit and salt to get the driveway clear for the airport run. It was about 2" deep but they made light work of it. We now have a massive :snowman: on the front garden, and their shoes and coats in front of the gas fire to get them dry . (Hubby sat and watched telly, moaning about him going on holiday at this time of year, and me agreeing to drive them....think he's secretly pleased as it's proved his point  )

Snow did stop for a while, but now started coming down again, so far not so thick..... Starting off at 1am now in the hope of getting them there in time.Got a flask of coffee and a blanket in the car now as well for if I'm stranded on the journey back home. If I don't get the car back in time for hubby to go to work..tough!
