Stafford FM
We would like to apologize for the break in transmission which was due to reasons beyond our control. However, we're delighted to be back with you on 87.7 FM and our 'live' programming will be resuming tomorrow morning at 6.00am.

Thank you for your patience and continued support.

A few posts under my belt
Been floating about on the forum for a while. Thought I'd post as I've listened to Stafford FM a fair amount and lately it's seemed a little odd. Have you guys changed logo BTW? Looks a bit... well... Not an improvement shall we say. Hope that's not a keeper!

Does put me in mind of Terry-Thomas as Carlton-Browne of the F.O.

Ray Crowther returning on stafford fm desperate measures good job when this rubbish comes to an end at the weekend. Stafford needs a proper station not a group of individuals falling out, The big boys will soon swallow this up at the end of next year, back to the dj boxes for you lot THANK GOD!

I usually listen to Signal 1 in the car mainly because of the traffic bulletins, but I have recently been flicking to Stafford FM just to see what's on there, do they put out local traffic bulletins?

If NO but they are thinking of doing it may I ask them at Stafford FM to consider which phone number they use that people use to report accidents, hold ups etc.:|

Signal 1 currently us an 0800 number which as I'm sure you all know is a free number for land line calls, BUT NOT MOBILES.

No ALL mobile users on dialling an 0800 are informed that mobiles cannot, but and to make matter worse if you do manage to use one you will have to pay for the privilege as an o800 number will NOT come out of your 'free minuets' calls time :(

... do they put out local traffic bulletins?
They do, but mostly at rush hour unless something unusual happens outside of the am/pm general madness. I can't remember hearing a phone number to call in, but i don't really listen carefully to travel news - as a cyclist it doesn't usually affect me.

P.S. Always a pleasure (is this right? Ed) to receive unkillabill's radio-related-ruminations. :)

Before any conspiracy theorists jump on the fact that Forumite staffordfm appears as a 'Guest' in this thread (such as here, for example), it's not for any surreptitious reason! A spammer signed-up with a similar name over the weekend (completely unrelated to Stafford FM; they were just close alphabetically) and I accidentally deleted the staffordfm account whilst getting rid of the spammer. :embarrass:

Many apologies to whoever owned it. Obviously, you are more than welcome to sign-up again under that moniker (or any other, for that matter). :)

Enjoying a drop of red.

Get back in your box, unless you have something constructive to say!

You can install 0800 Wizard for Android or iPhone...gives you a landline number instead, which is free.

So what is going on ? presenters suddenly leaving/joining, technical difficulties which keep taking the station off air (never confidence inspiring for potential advertisers), has there been a management coup ?
Our town needs/deserves its own radio station and the team at Stafford FM have worked dammed hard to make this a reality and i hope that the station will continue to prosper and will get the permanent licence that they and our town deserve.
