Eh? Somebody that I presume to be unconnected with Stafford FM has merely expressed an opinion on the manner in which you put your views forward. Is that such a problem? Does it imply that Stafford FM are using the Forum to attack you?

Do you have any views on Stafford Radio?
is stafford radio on fm?????

Is Stafford Radio any better? I don't really listen much to either of them - more of a Radio 3, 4 and 4 Extra man, me.

And RnaG, too, of course.

But why? It's local, it caters for the community and the music is usually reasonable. Surely that's all that matters. Who cares about the behind the scenes politics as long as it stays behind the scenes?

I noted it going off and on a couple of days ago and I was on Tescos Extra car park Newport Road so the problem wasn't loss of signal due to distance. ;)

Well put! Why, unless you had a personal interest in the situation, would you object to Stafford FM?!

I would be willing to wager that unkillabill is a bald-headed man.

And this is the reason he is so uptight.

Hi.
We would like to take this opportunity to point out that we are now broadcasting on 87.7 FM. Stafford FM was crafted to embrace the community in everything we do, and we welcome any feedback. The radio station is a 'not for profit' organisation and we're reliant on the good will, gestures and enthusiasm of our volunteers. Yes it's fair to say that we don't get alot of things right, but we are all working towards one common goal, to get a full time FM community license. This will only be achieved through the hard work and endeavor of our fantastic team of volunteers. We are not aiming to be another commercial radio station, in fact, we have a tremendous amount of respect for our local commercial radio station, Signal One, and there is also certainly room for BBC Radio Stoke aswell. Each service should compliment each other and are designed differently to cater for all tastes and needs. The ethos of Stafford FM is to provide an informative platform for the community to be involved in. Whilst we are someway from landing that full time FM license, we will continue to embrace the thoughts and opinions of the community in which we aim to serve. We would also like to point out that Stafford FM is an avid supporter of Stafford Forum, in fact, up until recently we had an 'agreement' in place that allows this great forum for discussion 'exclusive' exposure on the radio station in the form of an advert. The Stafford FM presenters continually support the forum and you will often here one of the team referring to Stafford Forum whilst on air. The nature of the project means that we have no specific target demographic and although we try our best to cater for everyone, we cannot please all of the people all of time. You will see that I am not hiding behind a mask ( although some would like me to ! ), nor am I personally attacking anyone or any other organisation, to the contrary, I am proud of what Stafford FM has achieved in such a short space of time. Personally, I have sacrificed an awful lot to help make Stafford FM what it is today, I do not get paid, nor do I intend to gain any financial wealth from the project. I do not currently work, other than to plough my time into making Stafford FM a success. I have volunteered my services for well over 18 months and although I struggle to make ends meat, I take great satisfaction in what we ALL have done with the radio station since it's inception. I can quite categorically say that all of our 40 something volunteers have also sacrificed something to get where we need to be today. Unfortunately, having been in the radio industry for over 20 years, I know only too well how people can sometimes be over opinionated about what they hear on the radio, whether that be a presenter, or the music a radio station plays. However, I would like you all to spare a thought for our volunteers within Stafford FM. Whilst you may not like everything we do, and for this I apologize, an awful lot of hard work, determination, good will and even tears have been shed through the selfless way our team has created and driven this radio station forward.

On behalf of our volunteers ( myself included in this ), we would like to thank you and please do embrace your local community radio station, a truly unique concept of radio which will continue to gain in strength.

Thanks.
Stu Haycock
Director.

That was long winded bollocks...

Went past the Stafford FM building today. Looks dead as a doorknob and fairly empty, must be serious as I've heard quite a few shocking facts about what's been going on behind the scenes while talking to a couple baboons on my morning swing. Kudos to the people who've left, I wouldn't put up with such egotistical, spiteful, childish crap either! I'm guessing what ever's going on will not end pretty. Stafford doesn't need a bunch of half wit crooks with huge egos prancing around like they're famous. We need people who actually do what it says on the tin, not promise the earth to the community and then provide a half arsed service then tell people to get stuffed when Stafford FM cannot deliver.

I've yet to hear a good thing about the individuals that run it currently. All I can say is, good luck. You're going to need it...

Thanks for taking the time to sign-up and give us some official news, Stu_Haycock. :)

The Stafford FM presenters continually support the forum and you will often here one of the team referring to Stafford Forum whilst on air.

Remember that Stafford Forum is a free and open platform for anyone to air their views, so please don't interpret any individual(s) posts as representative of The Forum as a whole!

Everyone is entitled to their opinion, so we will never censor anyone for airing a view that people disagree with, but as you say we, The Forum, have so far enjoyed a great relationship with Stafford FM, and helped expand its presence on the web during the early days, so we hope that long may you continue. :)

The banner down the right-hand side was taken down at the request of someone from Stafford FM (I thought it was you, to be honest, but I heard it by proxy so may be wrong). We will be happy to re-instate it once you have things back up and running and can provide a streaming link. :)

Best of luck in getting back to full strength, and I look forward to being able to integrate our two platforms to even greater effect in the future, in order to provide the best possible service to the town we love. :D

Interesting reading...

New website? New Logo? Also, I've been listening to Stafford FM the last two days from my hammock and it appears that the lovely theme song, what ever you call it... is no longer present. Quite a lot of noticeable changes. Like the new website, looks similar to what clings on to my fury crack after eating too many figs.

All seem's quite odd don't you think?

For me this website is much better, the previous one did not work with any version of linux I tried, so I couldn't listen to it online, this new one works fine!
