Cheers! Sadly this is the opposite of the type of shop I'm ever likely to go in. I'm just not in to material ..............hmmm, I'd use the word tat but that is what Primark sells according to this forum isn't it :D Not tat, but stuff with no real use shall I say. I never go in Pecadillos either. I just don't have that kind of ornamental stuff in my house!

I did go to see Tim in Collectable Records today...........it's a mess!! Even Tim thnks so lol. We relieved him of 5 nice albums, but afraid it did littel to tidy the place up!!

Again, has exactly as I said. Yet again I have been proved correct.

You have not been proved correct at all.

You said Clarks was the worlds most expensive shoe shop.

It's not even Staffords most expensive shoe shop.

So all you have proved yet again is that you are nothing more than an argumentative, arrogant, inconsistent person who likes nothing better than to wind people up.

Yeah, KR's not my kind of thing, either, really.

It would take more than the removal of 5 LPs to 'tidy' the place up - a drone-strike would be more effective.

i don't think it's so much the quality of shoe as much as the style/shape. My eldest's right foot turns inwards in badly fitting shoes so has to have quite high support and have generally got good advice from Clarks. Not a patch on Unique Soles though who we always get her proper shoes from.

Indeed. I always liked the small shoe shop on Adies alley in Stone, but it's closed now.

How 'expensive' something is is not simply a measure of what they cost, it is a measure of value for money. As has been agreed on here, including by a member of the shop's staff, clarks shoes are not value for money, they are very over priced for what they are.

When I spend £40,000 on a new car, that is not expensive, because the car is worth the money and good value. I will not spend £100 on shoes in Clarks because even though that is considerably less money, it is more expensive as the shoes are not worth the money.

I didn't realise I would have to explain basic language on here to people that don't understand.

Enjoying a drop of red.

Something is worth what people are prepared to pay for it. If i need some shoes of a certain style and Clarks are the only ones who do them then no matter how much they cost they are worth it, and that makes them not expensive to me. Others might think they are expensive though.

For what it's worth I don't think Clarks shoes are that expensive. Having said that I don't really like Clarks shoes!! :)

Well there is Kismet rose in there, which has now been trading in the Guildhall for over 2 years, and is far from cheap
tat. It also happens to be doing really well, so I don't know about ' just hanging in there'

They have brands such as Emma Bridgewater, Sophie Allport, Disaster designs and many more.
There are lots of locally produced items, as well as big brands that places like John Lewis sell.[/Q
