I take it Eccleshall road/alliance st is the best way to get past the stone road closure.don't fancy diverting all the way to junction 14 to get back to the Redhill island.

What Stafford needs is the M6 to be shut at junction 14

That'll sort the rat runners out

Not necessarily. If heading northbound work through Stafford and up A34 heading for Junction 15, southbound plough through the centre of Stafford onto the Wolverhampton Road aiming for junction 13

Closed southbound overnight from J13 to J12, I believe.

Eccleshall Road is still really busy, it used to take me a couple of minutes to get down it, now it's going on for 20 at peak commute times. Also means traffic is backing up even more on Creswell, which is usually gridlock come half 8 anyway.

I drove down from 14 and saw all the signs saying closed from 13 to 12, got myself in the left hand lane ready to come off at 13 only for all the rest of the traffic to sail happily on towards j12. Made a hasty decision to stay on the motorway and immediately after j13 the sign all disappeared. Didn't make sense!

In my motorwaying days, I became aware that almost all warnings are out-of-date, apart from the ones that were too early.

The three-way lights at Portal Road / Douglas Road are beyond stupid.

The road is no more obstructed that it is normally with all the abandonmentness of car-parking along it. Well, it wouldn't be if the lights weren't there.

People are largely just ignoring them now.

Are we thinking of the same Portal/Douglas roads? I don’t recall any lights around there
