There's only one set of lights on Beaconside now, but that didn't stop a tailback all the way to Stafford UPVC during off-peak time yesterday.

Was there really chaos, with all those tourists flocking to and from the Super Bowl, or are you over-egging the situation for dramatic effect?
Paul Milgate-Scarrott's picture showing the level of chaos that ensued.

It was probably quite difficult for pedestrians to cross the Madford access road at Halfords, I suspect.

I bet the pedestrians were queueing for ages without the reassurance of a green man. It must have been like a game of Frogger!!
I don't think I've ever crossed there, but the fences often make it quite difficult when the lights are out - you're pushed round the corner with less visibility, in both directions and you can find your exit off the road blocked by people trying to come the other way.

OK, maybe it is more challenging to traverse the road there than I first realised?

Broken down (school?) bus blocking both lanes onto Junction 14 from Creswell - been there for the last hour without moving - mostly an inbound issue, but it has the potential to escalate, if they do finally try to move it.

Getting onto the roundabout involves driving half on the verge, then poking out to see past the 'assistance' vehicle that is parked in the outer lane of the roundabout.
