Saw a fire engine going up the Offley road at about 17:35, was that in connection?
Not sure, you couldn’t enter woodseaves from the Eccleshall side it was blocked with vehicles and emergency vehicles - it looked really bad , a traffic report said an overturned vehicle but it looked like a multi vehicle collision- it was dark I didn’t hang about and turned around so didn’t see much else but there was a blue lighted fire engine heading towards the scene as I left was about 1/4 to 6

Long delays on Beaconside currently not helped by people jumping the red lights and a 2 vehicle fender bender on the single lane section blocking the road for a few minutes.

The plan for Beaconside seems to involve terminating cyclists. Coming from Redhill roundabout through the three way lights, if you're on a bike doing 15mph at the end of the 30mph queue, you might only be two thirds through the single-lane section when traffic starts coming in the other direction. The chance of becoming a truck radiator badge is increased because the road is so narrow.

In the future the only thing that might ease Stafford's gridlock would be widespread use of bicycles, so it's shame there won't be any left. How about challenging a councillor and housebuilder to ride a bike around the area for a day?

Shares and directorships in all things bicycles ain't what it used to be. Plus, how would they carry their trough.

Half an hour to get from the Farmdown Road junction to the twin islands this morning. That's half a mile.

Sandon Road crawling inbound, all the way to Lotus lights, at least.

Possibly people attempting "alternative routes"?

if its any consolation beaconside was just as bad and most routes through the town are also bad as people avoid baswich lane beaconside and Eccleshall Rd. It seams the highways dept have done the classic pincer move to cause maximum disruption again.

Baswich Canal Bridge may be opened on Friday 9th

Site cabins and Plant gone just some Heras fencing left. Bob the Builder said another day for the tarmac to set and a final sweep up?

Did they ever do the railway bridge job?
I read somewhere (probably the E&S...) that they couldn't close the railway bridge part to do the job, as lorries wouldn't be able to access the retail units and mobile home parks down there as they aren't allowed the other way over the bridges.

So

Margaret Thatcher passed the law that allows any utility company the right to dig up the road at anytime without any consultation with any other

Perhaps a reversal of this act could be seen as a vote winner
