Meanwhile, Marston Lane is open again, complete with on-road quagmire. The perfect surface for an official cycle route. I think I missed the "Knobbly Tyres Only" warning.

Speaking of road weirdness. Has anyone noticed all the lumps appearing in the road near Lidl? Just as you come out of the Lidl carpark and before the turning into Wickes, Currys, etc there’s a massive lump in the road for one

They've been growing steadily since it was first built.

The stuff that comes out of the town's potholes is shoved in under there every night.

Driving home from work this afternoon, I was parked up at the Falkland Island lights heading towards Sainsburys. The lights were on green, As usual too many cars had gone thru and were all lined up on the yellow hatchet bit. I got blasted on the horn by some git in a white van, he revved it a bit too, gesticulated n all. Not being in the right frame of mind at that point, I pulled over behind the last car. He then carried on having a go at me as he drove down the high street. If i'd had my wits about me I should have written down the name on the van. Why on earth do some think it's perfectly fine to bully others on the road?

Because it sometimes works and there are rarely repercussions.

Of course, sounding the horn of a stationary vehicle remains an offence.

There was 2 of them, 1 of me, and it frit me up. I'm not normally like that, give back as good as I get. Just not today.

There are three places where people try to kill me the most, but here's where they try hardest.

Now many of those apparently travelling 'Nouth', or rather North, toward the A34, suddenly swerving back in to the lane that QUITE CLEARLY HAS A518 WRITTEN ON IT, are a nuisance, but there is this refuge for the embattled.

Our real suspect is the person who wants to go down the A449, but has been inconvenienced in advance by a cyclist - really just a person on a bicycle who just wants to go to work without being pole-axed by a big feck-off van - heading forward on the A518 quite reasonably, who will overtake without the space within which to do so, which will necessitate MASSIVELY cutting over the cyclist's line and causing him to take evasive action .

It literally takes me about five seconds to cross that junction, what time do you hope to save? Can you really not spare five seconds for my welfare?

What's the f**king matter, dude?

Do you not think you might lose those five seconds somewhere else along the road?

I f**king matter, even if i don't to you.

Chill, brother.

Pedestrian access southward to the Bull Hill area is only available to those who can manage an element of sprightliness coupled with excellent timing.

The water/mud is running down the walls of the 'power station', you have no chance, if you guess wrongly..

Another of those things that 'They' haven't quite managed to fix in the last forty years or so. Maybe it's twinned with the flood on Weston Rd near Blackheath lane.
