I'm trying out life in France

Lots of things are going wrong here too

But there is a bit more space in which to deteriorate
I lived in France for a year some moments ago.

It was lovely, and might have been even lovelier were it not for all the French people who couldn't be avoided.

This is the kind of joke one could have made somewhere around three years ago, with the sort of insousiance that was suggestive of bonhomie rather than an ineluctable air of malice.

I have heard the Mermaids singing, each to each.

I do not think that they will sing to me.

I miss those days.

It's a human condition rather than a British one

The young have no experience of saying no

Conformity is their poison

The Emporer has an empty wardrobe however

But I have no expectation

What's the legal position if the new sign isn't illuminated as it seems not to be and it is obscuring the similar one that is?

It's also confusing when Bridge Street is open to all traffic (depending on the time of day, etc) if you approach the roundabout from Greengate Street side.

Totally confusing and a dangerous distraction to drivers approaching a roundabout.

Coming along the infamous Redhill Island/Beaconside all year Christmas lights section this afternoon, it was particularly reassuring to see the care and consideration lavished upon road users by the developers.

Out of their bountiful munificence they had coated the entire road from the second set of lights (heading towards the MOD base) all the way to the Leon's turnoff with a lovely layer of mud, making conditions somewhat treacherous.

Thanks guys, much appreciated

Mud on the road again should be expected at this time of year but it may be lonely this Christmas and they really shouldn't be touring at their ages :)
