I would be interested to know their non animal source of heme/haeme
It may be this route - or root...?

This heme is made by fermentation:

“We add the soy leghemoglobin gene to a yeast strain, and grow the yeast via fermentation. Then we isolate the leghemoglobin, or heme, from the yeast. We add heme to the Impossible Burger to give it the intense, meaty flavor, aroma and cooking properties of animal meat.”

Ah, didn't read that far down. There is some odd biochemistry there, and we are talking about a GM product.

There was a time on the forum when asking something like "Does anyone know where I can buy firm tofu?" would inevitably lead to a 25 page flame war between @shoes & @Lunar Scorpion about the rights & wrongs of eating meat & I'd much rather continue the new mood where people share useful things like recipes & menus than start all that again...
An Historian speaks.

With much wisdom.

The advertising banner at the bottom of my webpage has just shown an ad for Tesco's Wicked Kitchen.

Only had a quick look at the Wicked Kitchen site and there are a number of plant based ready meals advertised and also 10 vegan recipes from the parts I looked at.

Not sure if Tesco sell these products in a separate section of the shop or just lump them together with other ready meals.

They're on the end of the aisle to the left of the Quorn.

Personally I prefer natural food rather than these man made processed foods but anything that reduces meat consumption is positive news!

Sorry - no pics! But they were proper good!

I am in LOVE with Soya milk - so tasty!
Much better than milk on my brekkie!
I proper easy happy swap made!
Having been someone who had 7 bottles of milk delivered each week, and a glass of milk every other night before beddy byes, i was convinced i'd "miss" milk but i just don't. I liken it to being told by the doctor i got lung cancer and i gotta/should/had to give up smoking, except in this instance my cigs were animal consumption and i was the doctor!
I'm safe in the knowledge that i've dropped animal consumption by 98%, and it's only getting easier, i may even get to the magical 100%.
I'm not 4 years old and insist i need sweets and chocolate to survive, i'm an adult (on the whole) and know right from wrong (mostly) so know i'm doing the right thing, and not just for our animal buddys but the whole soddin planet.

So yes back to milk, i don't miss it and i'm loving trying the mass variation of other milks that are available, my favourite being cashew or hazelnut milk in my coffee and almond milk in my tea and on my cereal. Soya in my flatwhites when i'm out and about.

To quote Crazy R Lady, a proper easy happy swap made!
