Enjoying a drop of red.
gordon bennett, that looks marvellous..

does the bear grill have high chairs, does anyone know (@ChrisLewis)? mrs. db & i are thinking of popping in some time soon, and it would be nice to have somewhere to plonk little miss db rather than leave her in the car seat :)
Is there not a nearby cycle rack, you could leave her tethered in the car seat to?

We went there last night. The food was great (I had the 1963, my husband had the fish & chips) but the service was a little slow. We just ordered main courses and were part way through our second round of drinks before our food arrived but it did look quite busy for a Thursday night

finally got to test this out a couple of weeks ago.. first time we had taken the little 'un out for a meal, and it was lovely! a choice of high chairs, a cosy corner so mrs. db could feed her, and of course our food was excellent..

we're already planning on popping back in soon :)

Looks like it's a nice place. Went a few years ago and well they must have been having an off night as it was nothing like you all are saying. Will have to try again soon.

went here last night for a pre theatre meal, not been in a long long time, but have to say it was lovely, I like the idea that you can swap the burger bun for a salad. I had the grilled salmon, salad and chips and I was stuffed, the elderly lady to the right of me had a huge steak and chips with all the trimmings and a bowl of onion rings, I felt a bit of a wuss leaving a few chips when she managed to eat everything that was in front of her. Will try the breakfast next time served 10am - 12.

We enjoyed our meals there a couple of weeks ago as well. Took our Japanese guest there for a special meal on her first night in England and she was very impressed with both The Swan for drinks beforehand and The Bear Grill for the meal and drinks.

I went to the bear for a meal last night, the food was delicious

It was a last minute thing that a few of us from work decided to go for drink then fancied some food, we went quick drink in witherspoons (the cinema one) then we thought we would go to pastiche, no luck they said they were fully booked - although it was empty when we walked in, they must have been expecting a full house. Then we tried the bear who said they could fit us in but we would only have 85 mins to eat. It was a really good meal we all had different measl and each of us said how full of flavor the food was.

We'll book next time and will definitely go back to the bear

well, the bear grill is fast becoming my favourite place in stafford.. we're going there again this sunday, for mini db's 1st birthday :toot:

it's brilliant for kids - they eat free on sundays with any full-price paying adult, and the choice is great: chicken goujons, fish fingers, etc, all home made of course.. which is great for mini db, who is weaning atm and absolutely loves stuff she can pick up herself, like fish fingers, and chunky chips :D

trouble is, i can never resist the pecan pie for pud, so if i keep up this trend of double-burgers & pie every week i'm soon going to look like i'm having a baby myself :pig:

I think it is a bit hit & miss in there. Sometimes the burgers are moist, other times they are dry. But I haven't been in for a while.

Enjoyed the British Burger tonight, I was somewhat interested in the photos in the gents, the pic of the exterior of the Swan has Adolph Hitler walking by the front doors.
Typical Nazi trick.......
