I have yet to see the political posters usually attached to lamposts and the like

Plenty of famers fields have the giant tory boards though

It seems the lib-dems are privately seething at this banning of electoral postering, currently they are neck and neck with Jeremy Toryboy and feel that they've been shafted by this prohibition which was made with alleged political motives.........

I was canvassed yesterday on behalf of David Kidney, when I said I would be voting for him, I was told "you've made my day".

Does not look good at all for Mr Kidney if that is to be taken seriously.

MPs tend to be career politicians and Mr Stamp somehow does not look as if he'll fit well in the westminster village and it is precisely for that reason he's getting my vote.......

It's difficult to find out the 'truth', but it's looking blue, yellow, red here at the moment, so I'm led to believe...

Who knows?..

Sorry to hark on about the poster ban but Toryboy must have jumped for joy when it was announced as he was the odds on favourite by default to start with. This ban should have been announced the day after the last general election, it stinks of corruption.....

Indeed so, but will it really matter in the end? Is anybody really swayed by a bit of cardboard on a lamp-post?

And are there not other things that might have been banned first, methinks?

Barry Stamp at Westminster could well be a bit like the film Dave that Mr Grigson so kindly lent to me, and which I have not yet returned...

There is a very large yellow streak at present, possibly emanating from the reds?

If you didn't buy a copy, you are a terrorist! Or so those oh so annoying ads on legal vids tell me.

I have form as a terrorist suspect, but I can assure you that Mr Grigson's DVD is kosher.. And not halal..

Simple one this, it seems that hell would freeze over before Clegg does business.....

Not sure how much influence they have but i rather miss posters being everywhere - it jollies things up and adds to a sense of occasion. It seems a bit boring without them.

Was struck by something our sometime correspondent MarkHeenan said re council elections, being surprised that it was Labour posing the threat rather than LibDems. Suspect twill be the same Generally. Now i see it must be Kidney.*

As you have said previously**, tis a two horse race here - let our hung parliament be elected elsewhere, after all it needs some red from somewhere. Anything but blue. Please***.

*Green when PR is a reality.

**At time of going to press - ie prior to election debate sham-nanigans.

***Pretty please with hundreds and thousands and anything on top.

The last results in Stafford are below. Despite the apparent surge in Lib Dem support following the debates, it would be an almost unheard of result to more than treble your vote and go from third to first place.

Labour David Kidney 19,889 43.7 -4.3
Conservative David Chambers 17,768 39.0 +2.4
Liberal Democrat Barry Stamp 6,390 14.0 +4.5
UKIP Frederick Goode 1,507 3.3 -1.9

However, the pundits are now talking about a meltdown and Labour securing less votes than they did in 1983.

I'm not convinced of that and remain hopeful that the 1/3 of the electorate who are undecided and therefore excluded from all the polls will make a significant difference to the current projections.

Whatever happens on Thursday, I think the election will show our FPTP post system as being in dire need of reform and place PR under scrutiny unlike any event before.

Whatever the result, FPTP is an affront to democracy, as is the 'House of Lords'.....
I completely agree and hopefully this will be the election result that proves that beyond a doubt for the unconvinced.
