But he could remove it, ( if you have only bought the 'Assault Voucher' ) and get you into trouble - then we'ld be back where we started. Possibly an indelible ink barcode printer, or some such thing, that you could hand back in, having paid a small deposit..

Like a locker token....

I wonder if there is anywhere in the world where you can get pay as you go immunity. Would be the posh end of town thats more dangerous for once!

In fact, we don't need any of this. If you just give your name and the name of the intended victim when buying the voucher then it doesn't matter if he tells them that you did it. They just put both names in their database and it comes up 'pre-solved'. No problem. You would only need to hand over the voucher afterwards if you have bought it 'on spec' and weren't sure at the time who you were going to spend it on.

What about linking speed camera's up with registration numbers and then bank accounts. An instant fine as soon as you go through one too fast!

Actually maybe not. I have a trailer and would probably get billed twice!!

It would have to be compatible with the designer "Marker-pen on cornflake packet" - as seen in caravans....

The Irish police have recently demonstrated a technology capable of disabling number plate recognition systems. It's clearly visible in the last minute of this video. It can be achieved using ordinary household materials available to the general public. The perpetrators of this video are still at large.

Ive actually seen a product your supposed to spray on your number plate which reflects the camera flash making it unreadable, but is completley see through at all other times.

Surely they could be done for selling it these days?? (unless it actually has another LEGAL use of course)

I would be more inclined to trust a Garda-endorsed yellow plastic bag and tape. You wouldn't know if the 'invisible' spray worked until it was too late.

You have a point, although "just supposing" i'd bought a car with this spray already applied (because of course I wouldn't intentionally break the law), then I wouldn't deliberately break any limits BUT if I ACCIDENTALLY slipped on the accelerator whilst travelling past a speed camera and the spray i never knew was on my plate just so happened to block it from said camera.... then that would of course be a bonus!
However, if the spray (that ONCE AGAIN I don't even know has been applied to my plate) failed to mask my plate from the camera during my accidental slip on the pedal, then it would of course be my own fault and I would be expecting the fine through the post in any case ;) ;) ;)

lol

Another possibility is a slave flash unit mounted near the rear plate to cause a massive flare on the picture. There would be no problem about getting it to flash for the first picture - but it would require some work to be able to confidently flash when the next frame is taken a second later. I'm sure the forum has the collective ability to overcome this minor difficulty. I believe that they need to have both pictures for the speeding charge to stick, but if you are identified in the second picture you might then be liable for a 'perverting the course of justice', which might be worse - who knows.

Here's a slightly less technical "good idea" re speed cameras. Take your foot off the accelerator pedal. Better still, drive at, or under the speed limit all the time. Voila! No fines.
And before anyone mentions a certain trip to Nottingham, and a certain 30mph limit, I am aware of the need to follow my own good advice.

Woah woah woah don't go giving them any more ideas. Besides there is the issue of who is drivng although this is being combatted by cameras facing backwards into the car.

I have to admit though that the average speed cameras on the M1 as you're heading towards the M25 are superb. They limit everyone to 50mph and the traffic NEVER stops moving, allbeit at 50 mph. Of course when you exit this zone everyone speeds up again to 60 - 100 mph and you get the standard bottle necking problem and stand still traffic, so as much as I am against speed control to this extent, it really does work for easing congestion.

As far as having speed cameras outside schools, hospitals etc. this is just allowing the non-desireables in the gene pool the chance to procreate later in life, unfortunately :(

Do you not get bored driving at 30mph? I have found myself losing concentration loads at 30 mph, especially in modern cars, even medium family hatchbacks like focusses and astras etc make it hard to tell you are really moving at 30 mph.

Also if we all had as much time and as many assistants to get stuff done as these health and safety busybodies then having to travel everywhere at just over the speed of walking would be fine, however it is impractical.

Once again i would wager 90+% of people gettin hit by cars is their own fault and it's simply a natural way of thinning out the gene pool.

Ah, but this is of little use when targetting motor bikes where the rider's face is hidden and there is no front number plate. Just think what the tek-monkey could get away with then - if he could start his bike!

I have been front-flashed in Germany, but nothing ever came of it.

If you'd been in the car when travelling in that 30mph limit with her in Nottingham you would definitely not have been bored. You would also have been much less concerned about losing your concentration than losing the contents of your bowels.
