Ah, but this is of little use when targetting motor bikes where the rider's face is hidden and there is no front number plate. Just think what the tek-monkey could get away with then - if he could start his bike!
MUHAHAHAHA! eventually....

I presumed that 14 10 54 was your DOB and therefore you would instantly recognise my historically accurate description that was intended to confuse da yoof. Apologies.

yeah ive heard of a spray version too. some kind of reflective laquer isn't it? know where i can get some? lol
An ex of mine who was in Staffordshire Police at the time told me that hairspray works. He is an ex and a copper, therefore not to be trusted, so I cannot guarantee the accuracy of this information.

Surely if that was the case then peoples' hair wouldn't be visible in photographs if they were using hairspray. Seems unlikely to me. I think we would have noticed the odd case. I am doubtful that it is this simple.

The test should be fairly easy to do. Spray a number plate and then take a flash photo of it.

I did say it was probably a load of crap...

@ Lunar... I've heard that before now you mention it.

@ Graimasc... The claim isn't that it makes anything "invisible", just that it reflects back and therefore masks the detail. Hairspray on somebody's hair, which is individual strands, will reflect less due to the structure of hair.. it's a fibre not flat smooth plastic. Therefore the photo would still represent the persons hair.
Saying that, like you said it would be simple enough to test. I might do so (when the snow stops!) just out of curiosity.

Will post my findings unless somebody beats me to it.

Bad all round really, but the council can't be everywhere to grit all the time. I read earlier it can cost £17,000 for a round trip to git with wage costs and petrol etc too.
What about little boxes on every car to shake grit out as they drive along - temperature controlled, of course..

I've got it....

Why not just make the top layer of all roads (and pavements) out of grit / salt..... obviously would have to be bonded together with some form of strong tar / glue..... else it would be like the medieval times driving on mud tracks....

Snow and ice, never again.

I think you'll find that salt (grit) actually dissapears as it does it's job - so you'd end up with a glue road after it's snowed.
