Or even stuffed and wrapped in bacon!Miss Red said:I know a lot of humans who let a lot of methayne out too lol as for your last point - i hope not (tek might eat me between two slices of brown rye) lol
Hell yeah!Trumpet said:Or even stuffed and wrapped in bacon!
so, on what (philosophical) basis does an animal life take precedence over an humans?henryscat said:Those three are more or less the same thing.... so, on what (philosophical) basis does a human life take precedence over an animals?db said:- i believe in the food chain
- i believe that, thanks to evolution and industrialisation, we are at the top of that food chain
- i believe that a human life is more important than an animal life (don't start bleating on about eco-systems and how the whole world would end if bees disappeared - i'm obviously talking about the philosophical argument)
nothing, when they are relevant and correct.. trying to say that eating meat is analogous to being a nazi is just ridiculous - good luck finding anyone to support you with that one lol..henryscat said:What's the objection to analogies?db said:people eat animals.. we have done for millions of years, we have just got better at killing & preparing them as a society (yes, a society - that means we work as a collective and get others to do the stuff we don't want to/can't).. don't start trying to draw erroneous analogies ("we used slaves for hundreds of years, doesn't make it right", etc.), i'm talking about basic animalistic "circle of life" shit that has been going on forever..
you're making exactly the same point as me, you buffoon:henryscat said:It's also interesting that you raise working as a collective, since it is in precisely that way by the blurring of who's responsible for what in a large scale killing industry that enables both workers and consumers to more easily seek to absolve themselves of guilt.
can't you see that?? people want to "easily ... absolve themselves of guilt" - that's what allows us to eat a lovely, hot, greasy, meaty, murderous bacon sandwich without having to worry about how upset the poor little piggy was..db said:people eat animals.. we have done for millions of years, we have just got better at killing & preparing them as a society (yes, a society - that means we work as a collective and get others to do the stuff we don't want to/can't)
lol if anyone else made a broad statement like that, you would be the first to jump all over it, bleating about wanting supporting evidence, etc..henryscat said:One last point - the way in which we treat animals directly impacts on how we treat other people too. The two are linked.

Picked up some fennel & garlic sausages on the reduced counter at Asda last week, took a leaf out of your book and stuffed a couple of flattened chicken breasts with them. Brilliant with roast potatoes and a garlic & mushroom sauce.tek-monkey said:Hell yeah!Trumpet said:Or even stuffed and wrapped in bacon!
I'm stocking up on cheap haggis to ensure I can make more of the chicken thighs, they were great
1, Cauterisation.Glam said:Having had 2 skin grafts on my face,I can tell you for a fact, yes burning human skin smells like roast pork,I don't know the medical terminology, but after the infected skin had been cut away, the doctor "burnt" the area to stop the blood I suppose,he also burnt the area where he took the skin graft from. All I could smell was burning crackling.tek-monkey said:Mmm, I really like porkMiss Red said:According to what ive read (on the people who have famously done it and are thankfully locked away forever) - we taste closest to pork! So you will have to get a jar of apple sauce in stock lol - om nom nom nom haha
I know i'm not Twiggy (said it on the Forum loads of times),so there is a lot of fat/crackling on me.
I bet its like the juicyest part of a chick - turn it upside down and theres two indents either side of its middle bone - in there is the juceyest bit! wonder what the skin is called on a fore arm lolGramaisc said:1, Cauterisation.Glam said:Having had 2 skin grafts on my face,I can tell you for a fact, yes burning human skin smells like roast pork,I don't know the medical terminology, but after the infected skin had been cut away, the doctor "burnt" the area to stop the blood I suppose,he also burnt the area where he took the skin graft from. 2, I have heard a chap who was a cannibal, in New Guinea ( until the modern world arrived when he was in his twenties ), talking about the finer points and practicalities of cannibalism. According to him the prime cut is the fore-arm of a woman.
Sounds excellent! It really is amazing how different food can be when you stuff it with other foodTrumpet said:Picked up some fennel & garlic sausages on the reduced counter at Asda last week, took a leaf out of your book and stuffed a couple of flattened chicken breasts with them. I experienced that at the old SGI. I had discovered that I could make my nose bleed at will, thereby ensuring that I escaped Maths classes and spent the time having a nice lie down in the medical room with a copy of Jackie. Unfortunately my concerned teacher told my mother about my 'problem' at parents' evening. I was too scared of my mother to explain that I had been doing it deliberately and thus found myself at the SGI having all the blood vessels in my nose cauterised. Be sure your sins will find you.Gramaisc said:
So you can't justify your position still.db said:opinions and beliefs
Your utter ignorance does not make something "ridiculous". Many of those directly or indirectly affected by the Holocaust, have drawn the parallels and speak out in favour of animal rights.nothing, when they are relevant and correct.. trying to say that eating meat is analogous to being a nazi is just ridiculous - good luck finding anyone to support you with that one lol..
Nope.you're making exactly the same point as me
I'm sure other people can speak for themselves without you drawing inferences on their behalf.it's also worth noting that many other vegetarians/vegans have posted in this thread, and (to one degree or another) have tried to distance themselves from your posts,
Facetious how? Some of the banal comments that are made border on the offensive. I'm sure you wouldn't tell someone challenging a racist remark that they were being facetious or that they need to lighten up. Except you think that holding a majority view confers the right to trivialise something.to paraphrase your facetious "grow up" comment from earlier in the thread: lighten up
Well, just to start the ball rolling (and feel free to correct me if I'm wrong), but I don't believe the Jews were brought into this world to provide us with food.henryscat said:Your utter ignorance does not make something "ridiculous". If you think the analogy is wrong, the onus is on you to demonstrate it.
