The Swan Stafford: Brasserie & Restaurant

I'm sure you have all by now seen the banner at the top of The Forum for The Lewis Partnership. This is the beginning of an initiative to try and rid The Forum of faceless Google adverts, and encourage donations and support from local business and enterprise.

AA Silencers were the first to take the plunge a while ago, and now ChrisLewis has chosen Stafford Forum as the platform to promote his latest menus:

This is fantastic news, for a number of reasons: It helps to ensure the survival of Stafford Forum by providing much-needed donations towards running costs, but it also draws attention to some of the real gems of Stafford hospitality; namely The Swan, and The Dog & Doublet.

To that end, it would be great if you could mention Stafford Forum when frequenting places such as the above, so that ChrisLewis et al know that their donation is money well spent, and has helped draw custom to their establishments. :)

Who knows; if all goes well, perhaps in time Stafford Forum will become such an attractive platform for local retailers that they will be able offer us Forumites special offers & deals - but all that will only happen if they know that The Forum is driving business their way! So don't forget to give us a big, fat name-drop next time you are in there. ;)

Many thanks for your excellent feedback in this thread, and others, ChrisLewis - you are a shining example of how local business can and should get actively involved with its clientèle! :)

Should have put this on yesterday before we went last night & I would have mentioned The Stafford Forum;)

We went to The Swan last night for Pizzas in the bar area. Must say I was very impressed with the friendliness of the staff and also how it's been done out since last time we visited ages ago (we liked it then but seemed darker & cosier this time). A really nice atmosphere in there.

Pizzas nice and hubby enjoyed his Titanic Steerage and Marstons. My Olde English Cider went down well but wished I had asked to sample some of the other draught cider (can't remember the name....a Swedish one ??? )

Hi Chris,

Is it my imagination or have all prices on the standard Swan menu gone up quite a bit?

We have had Beef Stroganof a few times last year and im sure this was priced under £10 and now is near £14,

I was there too! If I'd read this beforehand I would have been giving sidelong glances at my fellow diners instead of concentrating on my food.
I had an excellent evening. The food was so good that my non-veggie friend is thinking of becoming a vegan. The service was brilliant, really nice staff who were friendly and efficient. Good to see the place so busy and we'll definitely be going back there soon.

Would be interested in any feedback from Chris on how it has gone in the first two weeks?
