Very good policy. If it's any consulation, a few months ago I had a jacket potato and chilli at the Holly Bush at Salt and it was completely inedible. The waitress came and asked me, 'Is everything alright with your meal?' and I told her it was vile and I couldn't eat it. I was offered a free coffee instead!

we've just come back from another family party at the Swan and as before can't praise them enough . the buffet was lovely and the staff can't do enough to make sure everyone is happy . it's certainly top of my list for our wedding reception venue when the time comes .

had not eaten here in a while but went for lunch today with the family. only wanted a sandwich ended up trying the bramley apple week menu and having three coarses, i had pork and apple scotch egg. confit pork belly, red cabbage and apple purree and apple tart tatin (i think thats how its spelt) and i must say it was very pleasant indeed. nice to see somewhere doing something a little different

A few posts under my belt
Well I have eaten at The Swan twice in the last week and am very sad to report that I have been disappointed. I took my mum to the vegetarian night last week and overall the food was good, but service was very slow, waited over 20 minutes to order our food and the same again once we were given the dessert menu. Then my husband and I decided to use our Christmas vouchers for Steak Night last night, my steak was very fatty, think I only ad about 6 bites, they did gve us a complimentary dessert, which was great, but again same issue with service. It's disappointing because we've eaten there lots and could always guarantee a great meal before.

Thanks for the feedback, will certainly look into the issues you have highlighted to ensure that normal service is restored immediately. Please contact me directly via The Swan if you would like to discuss this matter further.

Thank you again for the feedback

Fantastic Sunday lunch at The Swan yesterday.
Excellent food and great service.
The staff were a credit to the place.
Great value for money considering the quality of the food and the service.
We will be returning.

enjoyed a lovely early doors meal here with the family.
Despite being very busy and having not booked a table was found for us in the cafe type area rather than the restaurant. (think husband was disapointed with being sat in here but i was just grateful they could fit us in)
Family enjoyed the food, kids really liking the mussels which were served as a child size portion and my virgin mojito.
Impressed with the young female waitress with short dark hair..louise i think? who had a good raport with customers and a lovely but professional air about her. Also the long blond haired lady (possibly manger on duty?) who corrected our bill which was a little out but quickly sorted.

"true dat", as i believe is the urban vernacular the kids use these days.. this lady[sup]*[/sup] helped us with an awkward menu request at the sausage & beer night a couple of weeks ago, and she was the epitome of customer service - attentive, accommodating, understanding, and all with a beaming smile the whole time!

* although i feel a bit weird calling her a "lady" as i'm pretty sure she was younger than me, but saying "girl" sounds patronising.. gah, nomenclature is a political minfield! :gonk:

I sent an email of complaint on Monday evening last week (22 April). I received a prompt email informing me it had been forwarded to the operations manager, but I have heard nothing since. You're lucky I haven't reported it to trading standards, quite frankly! If I haven't heard anything to my satisfaction by Friday I will be both reporting you to trading standards and going public with the nature of the complaint.

Thanks.

On the positive side, the risotto was really nice. Rather big lumps of artichoke and sundried tomato for my liking though as they are strong flavours (and I'm not actually overly keen on artichoke - it's a bit of an acquired taste). The sorbet was really nice - shame it isn't on the menu and I had to ask.
I was a bit disappointed by the flatbread as I've had a really good flatbread somewhere else (nowhere near Stafford) before and it was made fresh and served whole, whereas this seemed like it had been re-heated and the texture was more like a cracker. The houmous was nothing special - I prefer mine a bit more "homemade" - with a rougher texture and garlic that you can taste.

Did anyone go to the pie week at the beginning of March?. The chicken bacon and tarragon pie sounds nice. Is that still on the menu or is it off the menu now pie week is over?

We'll take these points on-board

Hope you found our reply to your satisfaction - I'm more than willing to meet anyone and discuss feedback about a Lewis Partnership business, as we simply don't open tomorrow without the customers from today returning.
