I'm having trouble finding clothes at the moment anyway. I'm not liking anything in the shops or what I'm seeing on line. It might be more their fault than yours xx

I look like a Matron :( In fact I look just like my Nan did when I was a teenager. (Matronly)

I agree @Gadget - there's not much I do like at the moment & the stuff I do like is really badly fitting. :(

@Carole The husband dragged me into Fashion Factory in Cannock despite me telling him that there would be nothing for me there. (It turns out that it was really a ploy to take me into his nearby workplace & introduce me to a load of people he works with).

So I was twice or maybe three times as cross as -
1, Made to try on dresses somewhere I knew wouldn't have anything I like.

2, Dresses made me look like my Nan.

3, Made to meet people when I had originaly only dressed for traipsing round Penkridge market & had put no make up on & hadn't done anything to my hair!

4, Then dragged into TK Maxx (I hate TK Maxx) despite me stating I wanted to go to Debenhams, House of Fraser or Lewis's

Ignore me moaning, I must be having some kind of midlife crisis!

@littleme

We might have nearly passed each other today...I was near fashion factory.

What you need to do is this........take yourself off to Birmigham ON YOUR OWN or with a friend.

Then take him another day when you have narrowed it down.

Saves a lot of time in the long run.

Phase eight and Kaliko usually have nice dresses.

I think the whole sizing thing is ridiculous!
Everyone is so different, how they can make clothes 'one shape fits all' is silly!

So bear in mind if you find a style/ colour you like and it's not perfect you could always get it altered?

I always recommend the Sewing Box on Weston Road but I do believe we have our very own forum seamstresses @magda_xxx

Always worth a thought!

I have a very upset 9yr old daughter - took her for her 'flower girl' dress fitting yesterday (not in Stafford), before measuring I asked the lady if there was much leeway in sizes as I'm worried about how much she'll grow between now & August, & as she shot up in height over summer & is in age 11 clothes .. . . Don't worry she said, flower girl dresses go up to age 14....

So she measured the smallest daughter, eeeek - she's coming up as age 14! (SHE'S 9!) We can't chance her growing anymore over the summer (SHE'S 9!) She will have to have a bridesmaid dress instead.....they come in adult sizes......I'll get the smallest size we have - size 00. (SHE'S 9!)

Size 00 won't do up (child's now in tears), re-measure child, decide that she needs the third size up from 00 with about £100 quids worth of alterations on top of the price of the dress. :(

So now I have an upset child who thinks she's fat (she's the same size as all the other kids in her class). Its not the bridal shop lady's fault, she did explain that the dresses come up VERY small, but honestly - what adult is a size 00??? I've looked it up on the internet & as far as I can see - a size 00 is 5 sizes below a UK size 10!!! Does anyone know for sure if that's right?

*sigh.

Poor thing, she's sounds way to young for adult shaped clothes and may feel too old for flower girl come the summer.

Does it have to be from that shop, i.e. Does she have to match. It may be better & cheaper option to have something made rather than altered.

Off the peg Monsoon & debenhams are geared up for bridesmaids & flower girls.

There a couple of brands such as Jarlo that do quality petite wear some of which would be excellent bridesmaid dresses but your again your looking at it having the curvey bits that she's way too young for.

She defiantly is! Bride-to-be has ordered it, I think she wanted everything from the same place - as hers & the bridesmaids are all from the same place, but all may not be lost.....
,
Have you looked at BHS?

Their flower girl dresses go up to age 16 and they have a lovely choice, very reasonable and no alterations needed.

http://www.bhs.co.uk/en/bhuk/catego...efinements=Kids Size{1}~[age 11-12|age 13-14]
These are exactly what we were looking at in the bridal shop, only they had another 1in front of the price, the bridesmaid dress is almost double that & then the alterations added on top!

One of the BHS dresses has the exact same name as me :) I think I may send bride-to-be the link so she can see them, even though she's paid the deposit it might not be too late to change her mind...
