This is not forward planning! This is knowing how you’ll be controlled!
Forward planning as there will be a rise in infections coming into autumn.

I'm rationing my tests, I tested yesterday & was negative, but today I have a banging headache (3rd day running, tablets not shifting it), sore throat that feels both like it's been scratched and also burning at the same time, fatigue, feeling hot & cold & sick.

I'm not at work till tomorrow afternoon, and will test before hand, but if I feel like this tomorrow then I won't be going in even if I'm negative, disciplinary or not, I've been working with too many people with it to not want to chance it. I have no idea how I managed to drive home this afternoon.... And once home I slept for a good 3 hrs.... Not like me at all.

Doesn't actually say test kits for what. Although might be possible to use them for a whole range of things depending on the primer
I did wonder that, but not enough to bother doing any further digging. As you say most of the testing equipment is the same, and the tests are used for many other illnesses

Hey @gilbert grape, a disabled friend of mine posted this on FB earlier. She gave me permission to post it here. What would you say to her?

I imagine she would be pretty pissed off to learn you were putting people like her at risk because you believe a disproven lie about masks not being effective. Especially since it's her life (and the lives of 3.7million other clinically vulnerable people in England) you're willing to risk in the process, or her/their quality of life at the very least.

So, what would you say to her?

Your regular idiotic accusations are stinking of desperation, whataboutery and inaccuracies.
Do you honestly think everybody should go about their business, wearing a mask and constantly worrying that they are going to be killed by a virus? A virus exists but so do thousands of other conditions. If you are ill, stay home. If you test positive, stay home especially if you feel ill. On top of that, do you really expect everybody to dance to your tune and keep living in fear? Your main point about me believing about masks not being effective is closer to the truth then you make out because the majority of people don;t wear the type of mask that would have any really effect if properly tested.

People who understand the science (which may admittedly be a small portion of the population) are not wearing a mask because they are worried about themselves being killed by a virus. They're wearing it to prevent themselves from unknowingly SPREADING it, not catching it.

It's not living in fear, it's living in consideration of others.
That is what my friend is asking for.

Gilbert was not referring to “those who understand the science” but those who do not, ie ; the majority (as you know)
So those mask wearers DO wear a mask for their protection again as you well know, but I guess Gilbert is well used to the clique using anything he says to shout him down (at times even abusive)

So stupid people should stop wearing one and clever people should carry on?

It's a personal choice for me to wear a 'face nappy.' I am partially immune compromised due to chemo therapy so the last thing in the world I want is bloody COVID (or any other infection for that matter.)
And if Gilbert or any other of his followers doesn't like it, my reply will be: 'Tough SHIT ''

:P

Raven, you *literally* just repeated what I said back to me, ie that the majority of people do not understand the science. Gilbert asked if I wanted us to live in fear and I was explaining that if you *do* understand the science then fear for your own health is not the motivating factor for wearing a mask. Comprehension apparently isn't your strong point but I'm sure you can grasp that?

In any case, it is irrelevant WHY people wear a mask. Something else Gilbert said that I forgot to address (so thanks for giving me the opportunity to knock more bad science on the head) was that "the majority of people don;t [sic] wear the type of mask that would have any really effect if properly tested". Well, guess what! They HAVE been properly tested. Here are the results: "The researchers reported that fabric face masks “blocked between 62.6% and 87.1% of fine particles, whereas surgical masks protected against an average of 78.2% of fine particles. N95 masks blocked 99.6% of fine particles.”"

So, in short, wear a f****** mask.

PS ... prior to starting chemo my Oncologist insisted I got my fourth COVID jab, in fact they set it all up for me just prior to starting. I am inclined to listen to my Oncologist as I suspect she knows a lot more about it than I do. Also, I also figure (and this is just personal observation) that all those staff working in the chemo-therapy room aren't wearing masks as a fashion statement.

I'm sorry to hear about your Chemo, BobClay, I hope it isn't going/gone too rough on you. An Uncle has undergone a lot of it over the last few years and I can't begin to imagine what it must be like from what he's described.
