Still rather surprised we dont have any decent competition for Virgin Oxymoron Active given the growing population

Somewhere around the Gec Measurements Social would be reasonable or the old SGi but I guess we will have a whole university campus going begging soon

Perhaps the Sow Gondola station can ferry lardees like myself to it

Amazing how these threads go off in extreme tangents but what it's worth 2 million people who are eligible for gastric bands at £5,000 a pop works out at £10billion. although don't quote me as the zeros became a blur on the calculator!

If Aldi parked themselves on Greyfriars they would be in competition with Lidl.

If they take the Queensville site they will be in competition with the Co-op.

What would you rather?

Still can't figure out where an Aldi could be built (plus a car park) on Greyfriars, I can think of one place but the access isn't great for that sort of thing at the moment.

There are also the two huge empty units next to Dunelm (Dreams (boo hiss) & the old MFI (?)) on Greyfriars, or Madford - whichever its called.

There a good patch behind the TenPin - and potential for access down the side - but, maybe we're keeping that available for the Eastern Access Route...

Though, I think Mr Marwood might have been suggesting the bulldozing and replacing of most of the frontage north of Snow's Yard.

If you stand the cars on their end and make the store over five floors it would fit in a hip flask in the pocket of a tramp sat behind the car wash on a Tuesday in February

Probably

That land has been purchased, and cleared. It has now got a layer of hardcore on it and a new shiny fence at the entrance.

Aren't there businesses currently in some of those building though.

There was a wooden pavilion where Tesco is

And a Gasometer where Sainsburys is

And a canoe club where Presto was

Are Amazon so loyal?

Now we have so few post offices I suspect they will be! What they really need is somewhere open early and late with convenient parking, something most of the co-ops have. I can't see amazon opening their own places, and it wouldn't surprise me if the agreement was saving amazon money having things shipped to central locations. The co-op gets customers through the doors on their way home from work, who may just pick up a few bits and pieces on their way back.

I don't recommend having parcels delivered to the Co-op - their level of incompetence in dealing with them is astounding.... Other Collect+ points we've used have been fine though.

They've always been great at the one on the stone road, guess I'm lucky!
