Or year ?So it says on their Facebook page, but unfortunately doesn't mention their opening times.
Has it opened today as planned?Davenports Gold £2.40 a pint, Davenports Original £2.50 a pint, also Sharps Doom Bar.
Food served 8am to 8pm.
Yes, it was quite busy an hour ago, a five minute wait at the bar continuing as if it was a Wetherspoons, but no sticky tables. Yet.Has it opened today as planned?
I'm not sure about an atmosphere but there a quite a few changes. What's the atmosphere in there like? Are there many changes? How's the food? Is the prison door still there along with the glass cabinet of Lotus shoes?

I popped in at 2.20pm today, convenient from Gaol Square and the bus from Milford.I popped in this afternoon but no free tables so didn't stay for a drink and the changes I noted were:
The right hand wall has three large screens
The entrance is now a turn right as you enter
The seats are all high seats with mainly tables of four
The area to the left as you walk in is now a pool table.
The pool table is really wonky with some interesting shots returning without the aid of backspin.
They had two Davenport's and another beer on the hand pumps
It was really busy
Looks like all of the old tat (prison door, show collection, gaol cells, fireplace, etc has all been removed (but I may be wrong as I wasn't in there long)
Loads of people were moaning about the place when I was in other pubs
It's good to have something new opening at that end of town so good luck to them I say!!!
I'd never thought of the five Gaol Square bus stops as an Airport.View attachment 15209Stafford Airport Departure Lounge
That was the table I was sitting on but I was at the bar when the photo was taken.View attachment 15209Stafford Airport Departure Lounge
I can't be the only one who hates seeing a telly screen in a pub? Yes, I'm old, female and hate sports. But I just can't stand a noisy/blaring telly in a pub.Further to my previous post I've popped into the Bellend for a spot of brekkie before getting the train to Manchester.
It's obviously a lot less crowded today so I can actually correct a few things as follows
There's actually six screens along the wall where the fireplace used to be, another on the side wall where the shoes were, three above the bar, two by the windows either side of the door.
And there are some lower tables near the screens.
One of the bar staff was pulling through both Davenport's handpulls so I'm guessing that they had a good opening day yesterday.
