Cuffy/Skill - Stafford customer service thread - Stafford retailers reports.

I ♥ cryptic crosswords
I hate it when shop assistants look you up and down just because you're dressed down a bit, if only the owners/managers knew how much business they are losing due to the attitudes of some of these people they employ.

Take consolation from the knowledge that 'these people' live in sheds in their parents back yards, earn five pounds an hour, and never breath fresh air

I can only imagine that 'those people' have yet to experience running a house, having a career, running round after the kids, hence why they have the time to stand there giving disappointing looks to the customers who do experience those things and don't have the time or energy to go shopping for something for themselves whilst making sure hair makeup and nails are immaculate, so have chosen to opt for the jeans Tshirt and get up and go look.

I agree, I had only popped into town with husband for 10 mins, but what he was doing took a lot longer....which is why I ended up with a dress for sons wedding - to be honest Barbara Powell & Tudor Gowns wasn't what I expected at all - I always thought from the adverts & outside that it was a bit more glamorous. Fair doos to the lady in Tudor Gowns though for phoning the other shop & trying to force them to find something for me...

I'll also give a skill point to the assistant in Roman Originals who was a great help & the glamorous older customer who made me laugh :)

I had great service in there as well . Spent weeks looking in nearly every other shop around (apart from Barbara Powell, stuck my head in and didn't venture any further...) when I wanted a special dress before christmas. The lady in Roman was most helpful and was running around fetching other dresses for me to try and giving her opinion on each as well. I know she was after the sale, but made me feel like my custom was appreciated. and I went out with a smile on my face after a nice chat and happy with my purchase .

Skillz!! to the 2 guys at Mr Tyres on Dorrington Drive, next to the VW garage.

2 fronts fitted, bearings checked for wobble and all done inside 30 minutes.

Decent price, great service, and the waiting was ridiculously clean!!

We just got rudely thrown out of mfc carpets . their loss . I order all new carpets from kb carpets instead :D

I went into mfc a few weeks ago where I was given a quote , went back today to order them and it was a different man who refused to sell me the carpets at the quoted price, spole to me like absolute crap ! Won't be going there again ! I have always re commended mfc until today

We went into greyfriars carpets recently and they couldn't be more helpful.

Price seemed a little high though, we're happy to get the carpet from them as it's exactly what we want, but the underlay and fitting costs seemed extortionate (I haven't worked as hard as I have to get here only to earn less than a damn carpet fitter..... ;) ) so if anyone would recommend a decent local fitter I would appreciate it.

This bloke did some good work a few years ago - http://www.staffordforum.com/xf/index.php?threads/carpet-help-needed.2515/#post-50259 - if he's still around....

Mad Skills to Heather at Inkpot Galleria, and the rest of the staff in there Saturday just gone. Really welcoming and friendly, and ridiculousness clean.

My leg was cleaned down at least 5 times before any work took place and each step was washed and cleaned before proceeding.

Heather did a stand up job and I'm more than happy with her work. Definitely paying her a visit again for the next phase of my piece once my calf has healed.

Have never used Ink Pot but hear good things about them, I have been using the old tattoo emporium in Wolverhampton for the past few years and am really happy with them. Ink Pot though, if I was to use a Stafford one, would be that one.

Cuffy/crap customer service in tesco, Newport Road where two employees were discussing porn openly and loudly in the middle of an aisle where my 11year old daughter and 16 month was at 3pm.

My OH and I aren't prudes but there is a time and place for a conversation like that, if it had just been either myself or my OH it wouldn't have been a problem but when there is children around that's a different matter all together!

Tesco at the minute don't seem to bothered but my OH is plastering it all over Facebook, her mumsnet!

Cuffy to ASDA, where I had gone in to find out more about a bargain spotted online, which required a visit to the phone desk. After waiting 20 minutes for the lonely staff member to finish trying to print some photos for someone, I proceeded to ask some fairly basic questions which she couldn't answer. She read the phone box, then googled it and couldn't find the answer. She thought 4G meant a 4GB memory. She told me she couldn't just open the box to look and that I wouldn't be able to buy the damn thing and return it later if it wasn't the right spec.

I walked in there ready to scream 'take my money' and walked out 40 minutes worse off and with no new phone.

A case of inadequate staff numbers and inadequate staff training methinks.

2 Huge thumbs up and massive skills to @bpelectric today for diagnosing and replacing the isolator switch on our shower tonight.

Highly recommend anyone who needs a decent, honest sparky that will get the job done quick and with as little hassle as possible.

Really enjoyed hearing your stories of past jobs and experiences.
