Cars sliding back down the slope after stopping going up it upon meeting somebody coming over the bridge from Baswich was a regular event on frosty days in the '80s - attempting a sharp stop with some forward speed whilst going down it should cause some excitement, for sure.My main worry is that it can only be a matter of time before a cyclist/pedestrian is killed or seriously injured crossing the road just after the HBB. Even with cars being driven sensibly it would be a risk, never mind the speed some idiots drive over there regardless of what may be coming the other way.
Both knees are visible in your picture.....it was the other knee! Gram
Petition to rename the Sow as the Kwai, anybody?
Well you live and learn. Cheers, BB.Most crossings are now Toucan crossings - for pedestrians and cyclists.
A toucan crossing is a type of pedestrian crossing found in the United Kingdom that also allows bicycles to be ridden across. Since two-can, both pedestrians and cyclists, cross together, the name toucan was chosen.
