wanna see my snake?
Been thinking about this a little more. This weekend we were in the middle of nowhere in a forest, we didn't see another human for 2 hours, we were the only car parked there, yet there were 2 toilets a sheltered seating area and a stone BBQ with metal grills etc. There was nothing to buy, nothing to conceivably be charged for, yet it was there. Lots of places that have seating dotted around, like some of the parks, also have bins next to each lot of seating. There is nothing to buy, you aren't funding the rubbish being taken away, it's just done anyway. My wife is of the opinion that nothing happens in the uk unless someone directly makes a profit.
Same in the Azores, most beauty spots have BBQs. These are again middle of nowhere, just places with nice views and again literally nothing to conceivably spend money on, yet the local council still built them.
I'm having trouble thinking of UK equivalents? We have the town park, but they seem to have given pride of place to a cafe and parking costs you.
