This is my first post- I'm an ex-Staffordian, having been born and bred in the town.
I recently read the tour diaries of a musician who played in David Bowie's band, and was surprised to see the tour stopped off at Bingley Hall. Not too long after I read that The Rolling Stones also played Stafford at roughly the same time.
I was born in the late 70s, so Bingley Hall's time as a rock venue passed me by- in my mind it's always been assocaited with livestock or antiques. It's been great to discover that the County Showground once played host to the likes of Pink Floyd, Abba and Bruce Springteen.
I'm curious to know more about what went on there, so does anyone on this forum has any memories of attenting gigs there that they'd like to share?
Many thanks is advance!
