Like most things, it can usually be explained by combining pomposity, idiocy and carelessness in various combinations.I could never understand why we had GB stickers and not UK anyway.

It'll be GB again in a few years when there's a United Ireland, and then EW when Scotland goes off to rejoin the EU.I could never understand why we had GB stickers and not UK anyway.
Whichever's first they'll probably both be gone by the end of the decade.Yup, I always thought Scotland would go first but not now.
I'm sure they'll take it in a reasoned and balanced way ..It will be interesting to see the DUP's approach to democracy, if that happens...
Having said that, Johnson is the first PM capable of just dumping NI, especially now that he doesn't need their votes.
Project fear mate! For a fun five minutes why not pop back to start of this thread
Yehhh
Still stand by that!My thoughts so far:
I want our country to be independent.
I don't trust the bastards in charge.
The EU mitigates the bastards decisions.
The bastards will have free reign if we leave.
So, for now, I guess I'm in. But purely because of the bastards in charge, I trust them less than any politicians I have ever had the misfortune to be misrepresented by. We're already giving our children's education to private firms, selling our hospitals to them (all financed by us, the taxpayer, but we get nothing back), imagine what they could do if unchecked?
An Indian gentleman recently said to me he always thought his own government was corrupt, but moving to the UK he realised they were more honest than ours.
Project fear is now project here.Project fear mate!
For the same reason the British are in Calais, so you don't end up queueing back into the ships.I cannot understand why French customs is based in Dover ?
Why not Calais where there is vastly more room than Dover that has always struggled for room and where the slightest holdup for any reason has always caused an issue.
Well I have read that the lack of French manned control points in Dover is the reason & that being the case I am not surprised.
I believe its because if we did all the checks upon landing dover has nowhere for people to park? So, as G said, they'd all have to wait on the ship meaning it can't prepare for snother sailing.I cannot understand why French customs is based in Dover ?

I get that situation at Holyhead. Luckily, they have just about enough road between the ships and the exit to cope with the overnight boats. I've not attempted a daytime crossing for many years, for that and many other reasons. Two full ships arriving at the same time, as they seem determined to do, would certainly back up into the ships, if they attempted to stop more than a very few people. In my experience, they seem to stop a couple of trucks and a few cars with brown people in.I believe its because if we did all the checks upon landing dover has nowhere for people to park? Just wait til they start biometric checks for third nationals, that's going to mean leaving the cars I guess?
Good job it's not very sunny in Ireland then....... In my experience, they seem to stop a couple of trucks and a few cars with brown people in.
