Mundane facts about your day: Part Deux.

proactive

Enjoying a drop of red.
Sitting in the Wimpy, Wembley, waiting for our food to arrive (proper sit down restaurant like we used to have behind Woolies in Stafford).

I think p jr might have offended the waitress when he insisted on referring to what Wimpy now call a Bendy as a Bender, repeatedly. She seemed most put out... I'm having eggs chips and beans.

Bin collections

That’s it !

The most important General Election in 50 years will be decided by how well the bins are emptied in the next weeks

Simples
Only 50 years?

What was so great about 1974? I mean outside of this crowd?

The yawnful back-in-my-day-itis of the creaking backbone is beyond tiresome

Top of the World / Top of the Pops / Top of the What I Don't Understand Is Woke

The comfortably old will decide this seat - they don't GAF

Also, are we all supposed to think that bin collection is somehow not a political decision? Because...

Pro-tip - people don't see the Big Picture when their bins haven't been emptied.

Because they want to know when their bins will be emptied.

Because they want their bins emptied.

Air Ambulance has just landed on the Doxey Road Long Stay. 2 blokes picked up and driven at speed up the new road towards Lidl/Halfords.

I've just come down Chell Road (15 minutes ago) and an unmarked police car with 3 in it went flying past.

it looked like an RTC at the traffic lights on the new junction by Halfords. Caught a glimpse of blue lights there . Coming from North end of town you had to go left up Browning Street at the lights there. Nothing was coming from the other direction. Some cars were doing U turns and going down the side of Screwfix.

Very pleasant few hours spent at The Met with the Daughter-in-Law. We went to see the former Detective Chief Inspector Colin Sutton.
He is the gentleman who caught Levi Belfield, the monster who went on to kill Milly Dowler.
Only complaint I have is, we all seemed to be packed into the seats like sardines, for someone who isn't Twiggy, and isn't likely to be in the next few years either, there wasn't much room.

This morning I drove to Yarnfield, pick up the favourite nephew. Went up the Eccleshall road from Stone, due to the state of Yarnfield lane.
We then went to Llandudno. Nice enough, if a little bit cold. Bit pissed off that the Cable cars weren't working - again!
Popped to Conwy for dinner - Pizza, which was cooked on a wood stove, first time for both of us and we enjoyed the meal.
Driving home, the roads were lovely, till you crossed the border. Immediately I was playing hopscotch with the potholes. Only encountered two in Wales, flipping 100s back in Blighty!

You could have used the tram for the Great Orme and spectacular views as the cable car wasn't working.

.
I can nearly match that photo (when it's light tomorrow) , not quite so bad but getting there at the top of our shared bit at end of driveway. Needs all 4 houses to agree to cough up for repairs, but as it's none of us using it much the others wont agree. (Mostly people down the next road and their visitors/delivery vans turning in that bit of driveway , rather than turning in the T junction at the end of their road!!!! )

At least our own private driveway is still intact. Just got to do some careful navigating so as not to get stuck in the craters. Photo coming tomorrow....
