Do you have the air intake set on "recirculate"?
The Corsa forums answer to my problem...

...human being breathe out vast amounts of moisture which collects inside the car.
You could try holding your breath whilst driving - but that tends to result in death, which is inconvenient....

...light a small fire in the car overnight to stop it from freezing...

Hmm, which shall I try first?

I don't think its that posh!
Like this? The button with the car and bent arrow on will set it to recirculate and fill the car with your breathed out moisture.

You see loads of cars at this time of the year with everything but the windscreen steamed up.

Ooohhh is that what it means? I thought it was just where it was going to blow their..... Well no, I have it on either 'windscreen' or 'windscreen & feet' - should it be on that then?

Oh, God! - that button defines where the air comes from, not where it goes to - it can go to windscreen or wherever anyway - if you don't have it set to fresh air entry, then you are just recirculating the air in the car and filling it with your excess moistness - ask a male member for assistance.

My car is that old that it doesn't have those buttons - only the spinny things!

(at least I don't think it has - I'm going to have to go look now!)

It may not be a button - it may be a lever - if there is a setting with that car/curved arrow symbol, then set it away from that - possibly to a symbol of a car with an arrow pointing into it..

Just to add to the confusion :) If you have air con fitted this will also de mist the windows as it dries the air as well as cooling. Using recirculated air with air con would work better as it is only drying/cooling the air in the car. I do this to clear windows before the heater has warmed up, you can then turn off the air con and set the air intake back to external.

@Gramaisc Hahahaaaaaa! I've just realised what you think! D'uh, I should of explained it a little better ..... I don't have the buttons, only the dials (that's what I was on about with the air being focused on windscreen, or windscreen & feet etc...)

I do have a slidey thing underneath that lets me choose from breathing everyone's recycled trumps, or breathing fresh air from outside the car....I choose the latter - please tell me I don't have to breathe trumps???

@Laurie61 the car is old, the only air conditioning I have is 4 Windows & a sunroof!

The internet says that placing an open container of salt on the dashboard will draw moisture away from the windscreen, so I'm going to try that....however, knowing where I live - I envisage either being arrested, or, having my car broken into overnight....

I believe it's actually better to not use the 'recirculate' when trying to demist windscreen. It's better to bring air in from outside that matches the temperature (and hopefully less humid) outside (until you have enough heat to go the other way)

That's it - always use the fresh air intake - except in very special circumstances - I know people that won't take it out of recirculate and then moan for eight months about the condensation.

I considered suggesting that - but decided not to further complicate the issue - also suspecting that the Corsa in question might be a little on the elderly side...
