Question for vegitarians - would you eat haggis?

Well surely if the farmer is allowing his livestock to play near to the top of a perious cliff he's not fit to be in that position, his animals would have to be made wards of court and be humanely put down, the remains could be given to needy causes like old folks homes or refuges for the down and out.....

....surely the animals could be adopted by other farmers, in order to save them from such a fate.

You obviously have me at a disadvantage, i didn't know that the other farmers were suitable candidates to take on such an onerous task...and what about the old folk they are relying on this nutter being taken to court and having a book thrown at him...

... I'm not sure that they really would be suitable, that would be for the competent authorities to assess. As for the elderly, I'm also not sure that is is ethical to feed red meat to those whose cardio-vascular systems may already be on the verge of unsustainablity.

Could you grow a self sufficient cow? You know, slice a steak off each month and wait for it to grow back?

Not sure about that but some tribal types bleed cows to drink their blood. Saw it on a tv program, they also mentioned it on QI.

Bushmen and gauchos have been known to drink the blood of cattle, without causing the death of the animal. That's about as far as it goes. They make a small incision and collect a quantity before binding the wound and allowing it to heal. I doubt that you can get this in Stafford, but perhaps Mr Anslow could help. Of course, lizards will grow back a tail, but it's never quite as good as the original.

How do I edit this?
On the basis that a Vegetarian, by definition, doesn't eat any meat at all, surely someone who eats haggis but no other kind of meat is just a very fussy carnivore?

:)
not really.. not eating dog just means you don't like dog, which is only one meat out of hundreds.. claiming to be a carnivore except you will not eat any meat except haggis is obviously being very specific about your carnivorous activities lol

Genius!
/me goes to change will to add this under the bit about part of my estate being used to buy a chest freezer for my next of kin and using the cardboard box as my coffin.

** EDIT ** Slight rewrite.

Most people who don't eat dog don't do so because they don't like the idea of eating dog, rather than because they have knowingly tried dog-meat and found it not to their taste.

The difference may be shown by the fact that I am not keen on eating rabbit as I don't find it to be particularly pleasant, but Florenece doesn't eat it because she could only think of Zippy whilst doing so.

There may be some medical problems associated with cannibalism. Kuru, a spongiform encephalopathy akin to BSE, used to be endemic amongst some New Guinea head-hunting tribes. But it seems that if you avoid the brain and spinal cord then there is little risk.
