The majority of the original building on the site is going to be a trade counter (when the application was submitted, they didn't have a tenant for the building) and the end of the building furthest from Greyfriars Way is going to be a car washing bay for Enterprise. Formula One Autocentre is going to be a new building next to the original building backing onto the roundabout and Enterprise is going to be a portacabin backing onto the roundabout in the corner closest to Shell. The site next to the old job centre is going to be Enterprise car rentals, and a Formula One autocentre.
As far as i know the Stone Road site is going to be a builders merchants
If any of them get closed, I'd expect it to be the current Halfords Autocentre. But then again I'd be surprised if they close it, because it looks busy most of the time and it stops a competitor moving in there. I wonder if having 5 garages on the same road will/has effected any of the prices charged.Given that Halfords purchased National Tyre recently, I'm expecting at least one of the 3 places they have currently will close at some point...
Going to the Halfords Autocentre you might also find you get an unexpected bill for parking too, because it's not uncommon to find cars for the garage parked on the Dunelm/Farmfoods/Dreams car park.
When the nationwide Halfords company purchased the nationwide National Tyres company I doubt they looked at where each individual branch was located. And the majority of the businesses will want buildings that suit their needs, instead of trying to make a building suitable, like when Eurofit converted the old KFC.So what's the point of all this building when they have a building already. I don't understand why companies do this, it never helps them just leaves another empty property. Maybe it a tax dodge or something
