It's an odd one. I can't find any of the occupiers between the river and the mini-roundabout ever using Bridge Street for their address, even going back a few decades for the pub, RBS and the jewellers, even back to the Bath Hotel.

Google Maps insists it's Bridge Street, and Past Track describes pictures along there as that, too.

There could be similar disagreements over things like Wolverhampton Road/Rowley Bank/Rising Brook/Moss Pit, etc.
Yes, and you're forgetting Park Crescent between Wolverhampton Road and Rowley Bank.

Wolverhampton Road to the end of the railway bridge, then Park Cresent to Rowley Grove. Rowley Bank until Kingsley Road then Rising Brook up to Rickerscote Road. I guess Moss Pit finishes somewhere around School Lane but not sure.

The Rowley Bank sign, after Rowley Grove, disappeared a decade ago, although the posts are still there, waiting forlornly to be reunited.

The old Renault garage, off down by the 'new' roundabout for the distribution centre, says it's on Moss Pit.

It's madness.

Mill Street is clearly a side road. Greengate Street and Bridge Street are not.
A car being driven in that position should heed the Highway Code which states that "at a junction you should give way to pedestrians crossing or waiting to cross a road into which you are turning".
Most motorists though are either oblivious to that or choose to ignore it. At all the junctions walking to or from the town centre the great majority of motorists leaving or joining the Weston Road totally ignore myself and other pedestrians, only a minority giving us the consideration we deserve as acknowledged by the Highway Code.
My own policy is stop to allow pedestrian egress if only on the chance of eyeing a bit of fluff...
Oh now what have I said......

Given the amount of rain we've had recently and specifically this morning, I drove to the big charity shop on Astonfields expecting Lake Sandon to be there. But there wasn't anything ?!?! (This was 1pm)...

This is the area where the incident happened I believe. It looks to me that it is a road, especially as there are double yellow lines painted on it. If I recall correctly, the pedestrian area starts at approximately level with the white door frame and goes to the left. The remainder to the right appears to be a road.

As there is no STOP sign, only a ‘No left turn’ signage, it appears that car drivers do not have to stop. Any driver would normally be very careful when driving out of Mill Street if they know the area, but maybe not so much if unfamiliar with it.

What does everyone else think?
Mill Street there is about double the width of leaving the Sea Horse Hotel in York as I did easily enough yesterday morning.

I thought £60 a night bed and breakfast for a twin or double room was good value, as was the Sam Smiths OBB at £3 a pint.

Spotted someone in town yesterday driving whilst sat on a fitted seatbelt. You really have to wonder sometimes ?!??!

There can be exemptions. But who knows if that is the case. As for the beeping, you can just plug a dog safety strap thing in there or if you've got access a 3D printer you can print out a blank.

Enjoying a drop of red.

Or you could just wear the bloody thing and do yourself, your loved ones and the NHS a favour, in the event of an accident.

I have qualified for three of those exemptions.

Avoid stone, there's been a water main burst and a34 north by the garage is closed and traffic is being diverted into town = gridlock

I noticed there was a water van parked up in the central reservation yesterday evening just south of the roundabout with 3 workmen browsing the internet on their phones. I thought the road was fairly moist by the exit to the petrol station but it had been raining - even so, it was moister than usual for the conditions. And then this happens. Stone would have been a nightmare this morning.
