What's for dinner/tea?

Just sat in our bar at the bottom of the garden and had a gin and tonic.
Now cooking tonight's tea, lemon sole, herby potatoes and tender stem broccoli.
I thought you (& @staffordjas) had given up on the booze? Are you ok?

I must cut down, but I'm finding it difficult especially at the moment when I'm off work & it helps as a medicinal painkiller. Some days at work, all I'm looking forward to is what can we eat for tea, & which lovely drink can I have.

Spaghetti monster give me strength!

I was doing well , but after having a few at Xmas never got back into the booze free mode again.
Mixing the drinks since ordering on the app tonight. I must have drunk the dry of normal Strongbow on Wednesday night. Going down the drinks list on the app , trying all sort of different drinks for a change.( now I've got used to it , its a bit too easy to order away pike mad  )

I gave up drinking last August.
I’ve always had a busy life and I thought that I liked it that way, but lockdown was a revelation to me, I hadn’t realised how stressed I’d been previously and how many demands were on my time.

So stopping drinking was easy during lockdown and I didn’t miss it at all.
I did have a drink over Christmas and New Year and then stopped again until March when it was my husband’s 60th.

And now? Drinking like a fish again unfortunately.

Bank Holiday and Pay Day. Retail and food/drink will be hoping for bumper times before we are all locked down again to protect the refuseniks/ignorant.

It's usually my weekend in at work, I'm slightly thankfull that I'm still signed off as to ill to work as it will be manic, booze, bbq & meat.... While a bank holiday is usually great as its so busy & it goes by so quickly, this week I'm glad in not there....

Haha! Working in a supermarket is even worse, whole I'm there I may as well pick some up & save it for another day..... Although it never gets saved!

You've got to have some enjoyment somewhere, there's been little else in that last year to look forward to.... I've been terrible while I've been off work, even the carer rolled his eyes at me when I asked him to stop off & buy me some more gin on his way to the chip shop.

I've not started day drinking yet though.... So there's a good point!

So last night we'd been invited round to a friends house to watch The Champions League Final.
Food wasn't mentioned or expected so before we went we home made a pizza and salad.
Pizza was so large that we both struggled a bit but didn't let it beat us.
We then quickly got changed and popped over the road.
There's already a huge amount of nuts and crisps on the table and at half time she brings out samosas, sausage rolls and Cornish pasties. Because of Covid we have our own dish full of delights.
Even though it all looked gorgeous (I'm partial to pastry) I'm still full from the pizza but I decided that I could squash a sausage roll down.
I whispered to husband, come on, eat up but he said he couldn't eat another thing.
He doesn't cook so he doesn't understand the crushing disappointment when you've thought about food, shopped for food, prepared and cooked food and presented the food beautifully on a plate only for it to sit there untouched.

I even told him City would lose if he didn't eat something **

So, I ended up eating nuts, crisps, 2 pasties and 4 sausage rolls. I was so full that I felt like the vicar of Dibley when she had 3 Christmas dinners. I'm still full now.

** City lost, he can't say he wasn't warned.
