The only problem is that it is cheaper to fly across the Atlantic. Even advanced tickets are expensive.

The cheapest tickets are on the slow train.

Transport links were one of the reasons I moved to Stafford, along with relatively affordable house prices.

Then you find good pubs and intersting folk.

have you noticed that every time one town centre loony vanishes another appears, I'm guessing it's part of some kind of governmental quota on the amount of loonies you can have in a town.
I think the term is Eccentric ! every town needs them to brighten up the place. They probably think we are the loonies!

Have you got your anorak on now? I forgot the Eagle and the Union, mind you, the Poly canteen on a Friday night was good enough for me.

Opposite the prison on Gaol Road, next to the Chinese, where the disco equipment shop is now. It was a fantastic place. I miss it every time I go past..

He's still about. I met him in the Hospice shop by the old Post Office last year.

I was told that the old dears in there were the only purveyors of stink bombs in the town..

I cant remember that when did it cease to trade? He must be getting on then that feller
Probably about 1990. He had a bit of a fire in the late 80s, and then the landlord wanted a year's lease instead of a rolling monthly one, so he decided to put his feet up. Still does the fairs, I believe.
