Good job we have nothing planned and Christmas was just going to be us in our house. Phone call to collect Spawn3 from school at 10:30am someone in her class has tested positive so now she's got to isolate till Boxing Day. Calls like this is why they should have broken up last week apart from keyworkers kids and those who are vulnerable as this will have spoilt someone's Xmas plans or will just drive them to risk it. Fingers crossed she'll be fine but at least we can start Yule now. Shame I'm out of Baileys.

Calls like that are why schools should never have reopened in September.

I hope you still manage to have an okay time.

I'm expecting lockdown on 28th December, but this time they have to close the schools to make it work.

Not sure about the 28th but yes there will definitely have to be Lockdown 3 and schooling and university lectures to online only or else it will be as pointless as lockdown 2. Lockdown 3 is going to cause business closures to a scale we have not yet seen, it is going to be devastating. The blame is squarely on the shoulders of government and Chris Twitty and his sidekicks for not getting it right last time.

I made an essential shopping trip to Izaac Walton Brewhouse to collect an order of beers and ciders to last over Christmas.

Steve said he was struggling to get any cardboard to package his beers because Amazon had bought all the cardboard they could due to their increased online orders due to COVID. Interesting way to capture the online market by limiting any competitors' packaging material.

Can’t wait for another load of £10k payouts to help keep businesses going!

Haha not. They’re doing as little as possible for small businesses now, thousands have been turned down for the Kickstart scheme with no reason given too... and that £1334 per month for closed businesses covers sweet feck all

I have never had a good word to say about Amazon but if there's a shortage of cardboard it's obvious that it's going to go to a gigantic global company like them rather than a piddling little business like the Izaac Walton Brewery.

It might be a 'Piddling little business' but it keeps someone in a job, pays their bills and puts food in their bellies. You are so f**kin dismissive

"Piddling" for "small" wasn't meant as "dismissive" but two people funded by Small Brewers' Relief isn't the proper jobs that Joules Brewery provided in Stone up to 1974 just as Amazon doesn't offer the proper jobs that the coal mine and power station used to.
But, yes, after Brexit and coronavirus anything that "pays their bills and puts food in their bellies" should be welcomed.

Then you should watch your 'words'
You don't know who is on this Forum, due to all of us being Annoymous. 1 of us could be the owner of the Izaac Walton Brewery. We only let out as much information of ourselves as we want to.

Yes, that wasn't the best choice of words and, with never using words such as "shite", agree with you.

There's a complete lack of empathy for anyone that may have put their heart, soul and finances into a business, or anyone who may be employed by them. Many at risk of oblivion at the moment through no fault of their own.

As long as he is ok, nothing inconveniences him and he doesn't have to support crap institutions like education that he doesn't use, and crap beer is endlessly on tap, then he's alright Jack.
