Pre transplant i was on a
having another long night with insomnia - don't know why - my health is getting better and i'm going to the gym in the day but sleep seems to be eluding me at night - might have something to do with waking up at midday due to insomnia the night before. I need to switch my body clock around from day to night or night to day
i have suffered with insomnia for some years, i currently use a atarax, its an antihistamine that is quite sedating, my doctor prescribed it to me and it does help with getting to sleep....staying asleep is another hurdle but if it helps get a few hours rest then the world seems a brighter place.
have you talked with your doctor about the sleep difficulty, it could be a symptom of something else?
hope you get a better night.

That's much the same as me at the moment

I was sleeping fine, until i woke myself up with a bad dream... Assumed when I went to look at the clock it would say 5:30 or so, but it didn't....

It's rubbish! I should have taken something to help me drop off, but now it's too late. If I take anything now I won't be fit until lunch time and I don't think that will work out with kids off school! Hope you get back to sleep soon.

I am no authority on insomnia, but, as the BBC radio stations were universally awful tonight, I found myself listening to RTÉ and recalled that I have a rule to avoid having The South Wind Blows on when driving. Philip King's delivery is the most soporific that I've ever come across - he makes Bob Harris seem quite frantic.

Click 'Listen' here - http://www.rte.ie/radio1/south-wind-blows/ - for last Sunday's programme - I'm just off to put my head under the cold tap.

Back here again :(

Feeling very all over the place this week and I can't seem to get my head straight and settle down...

I think this year has been so frustrating as last year I was in my happy place all year and slept perfectly most of the time - this year though, I'm all over the shop

Hope you've managed to make your decision, maybe you'll get some sleep when you've managed to decide....

Thanks - still very confused and unsure what to do, and there's a few other things taking the opportunity to sneak in there and bother me as well

I do wish I was better at this life business - I'm jealous of people who can sort these things out easily!

I'm trying to think of ways of properly relaxing and clearing my mind - I'm very open to any suggestions the good folk of the forum may have :)

Sorry, I've got to be the worlds worst sleeper so no useful suggestions from me. I feel very envious of people who can just close their eyes and go to sleep til it's time to get up.
I was once driving down the motorway and a conversation on the radio was saying a fail proof way of getting to sleep....holding your breath for so many counts and breathing out for so many count, or something like that. Found myself breathing along with them for a few times , then had to switch the radio off quick incase I did actually doze off! Tried it that night but still spent hours lying there awake with things whirling round my mind.

So tired now and should be going to get some sleep before driving down the motorway at 4.30am, but know damn well that it's a waste of time and I'll just be lying there awake listening to hubbys snoring until the clock goes off.

My Attorney's brother was beset by all sorts of anxieties until he discovered tai chi, by which now he swears.

Alternatively you could take up mountain biking and come for a ride with me 'n' citricsquid ...

Otherwise just drink lots of wine.

I once had problems sleeping, probably stress related. I took Herbal Nytol (hops, valarian & passiflora) and woke up 48 hours later. I may have taken the wrong dose. Felt lousey anyway.

I give up ! 3 hours lying there so tired but not got a wink of sleep, . Trying the old cup of warm milk thingy now.....

Son now joined me downstairs and is eating meatballs watching telly. I settled for homemade chocolate cake and milk. One hour til the clock goes off..........

Would have polished the cans of cider off earlier to knock me out if I wasn't driving in an hours time . Tired and yawning, but at the same time wide awake...

Had to open the car window down the motorway at one point and knock cruise control off , could have quite easily dropped off for those few moments. So tired now I'm back home, but don't think I'll sleep if I do go back to bed so decided to stay up and maybe sleep better tonight ....

Weird - must be something in the air. I was awake just after 5 this morning. :( Tried my best to drift back off but to no avail.

Now I have a banging headache and am already tired... it's going to be a long day.

After no sleep at all last night, and very little the night before, I will be up until the early hours of tomorrow morning as well. Tracking sons flight and he's scheduled to land around midnight our time ( 8 oclock tomorrow morning for him). Won't be able to sleep until I've heard he's landed ok and managed to successfully get the train to his first hotel.
Looks like I won't be sleeping for the next month
