After all the positive comments on here we decided to get a takeaway from here tonight to try it out. I was a bit disappointed if I'm honest. The food was ok but nothing special. The meat was well cooked but the sauces in both of our main courses were quite watery and a little bland :(

Oh, thats a bugger! Never had a bad one myself, but I suppose Spice Delight was the same then had a run of bad meals (back to good again now though). Hope they still have the same chef.

Just been for a curry in Karma and after some debate we were offered the 4 course offer for £10.95 that doesn't exist anymore???

During conversations with the staff I mentioned they should check out the positive comments on the Forum and suggested Forumites should get a discount. Also donated a spare Stafford card so that they look into whether they could offer a discount. They were very interested and gave us a free round. Watch this space :)

Anyway food was good but I'm still torn between Spice Island and Karma

Excellent work, Thehooperman! Karma II really do seem to get some outstanding reviews in this thread, so it would be nice if they came on and read them. Hopefully it would give them an advertising avenue to help increase their trade, or boost their morale at the very least. :)

Alternate go to one early evening and the other at the end of the evening!
Or do a progressive pub crawl and meal with starters in Karma and main course in Spice Island ;)

I have also mentioned the forum to the staff there. I wanted them to feel a little bit loved, given that the restaurant never feels very busy. It's the kind of place that you desperately want to help - I've recommended it to so many people I am sure some of them suspect I am on commission. It's easily the best Indian food in the area, beautifully presented and the staff are wonderful. I usually have the same dishes but they are never exactly the same because everything is freshly made that night. I think the problem is that it's a bit off-putting from the outside. You can't see inside and maybe if people can't see others eating, they are worried about venturing in. I also think they should bring back that little train thing that used to run round the ceiling years ago. Before computer games, that counted as high excitement. Well, that and riding the escalator in Allied Carpets.

We asked about the train and they said they thought they had it stored away somewhere ;)

I would like to say that I am impressed in the way that people in stafford are talking about Karma, and thank you for everyone who have tried and reccommended karma to others. Karma does have another branch in Stourbridge which is highly reccommended too. It is nice to now that people appreciate the quality of food. I have been reading about karma and decided to register so anyone can ask questions as staff there sometimes may not be able to answer your questions. There will always be good and bad reviews as everyone is entilted to their opinion, but all Karma staff can do is try their best.

fair play for registering, and also fair play for admiting that you may get bad reviews at times. i've only heard good reviews about the place, so i'm definately going to try and get myself along next time i'm back in stafford

oh, and that discount for forum members would be brilliant ;)

Nice to see you signed up :)

I've managed to convert a fair few people now, we've never had a bad meal in there. Just a shame my missus is on a diet all the time so its hard to get her in there! Saying that she did really like the tandoori chicken with salad, which I don't think is too fattening (or at least I wouldn't tell her if it was!).

Welcome to Stafford Forum, ashi.karma! :D

As you can see from this thread, people round here seem quite fond of your restaurant, so it's nice to have you here to interact directly with your customer base. :)

Welcome to the Forum Mr Karma.

Did you have a look at the Stafford card I gave to the staff the other night and the possibility of discounts?

Where is the train by the way? ;)

The train belong to the old tenants I am assuming they have taken it with them. We renovated the whole building when we opened up we did not see the train there...I am Miss and I have more time to look on the internet compared to the Mr. As far as discounts I would like your views on these suggestions I am thinking buy one main meal and get the cheapest free on the main course only except the king prawn and fish dishes as they are too expensive or 20% off your food bill, these offers for dining in customers what do you think?
