Today I saw...

Cyclists without lights in thick fog. Two of them in full cycling gear belting along in their car with two bikes on their roof rack.

Not sure if they were cycling motorists or motoring cyclists. Just shows that some people have no road sense and think that their safety is everyone else's responsibility whatever their mode of transport is at the moment.

Mind you, sometimes I have doubts whether some of these people with bikes on their car roofs or boots actually use them. Just shove the bikes in place every so often and drive round trying to convince people that they are into healthy exercise & environmental friendliness

...well, yesterday, actually - my usual car deck on the ferry (7) totally empty for some reason - apart from a single Leaf using one the charging points there and a few dogs in the kennels who seemed keen on any visitor.

The 'ceiling' to the right of centre is actually Deck 8 and can be dropped down onto the fluorescent brackets that can be seen along the stanchions and by the 'Lift' sign, to almost double the capacity for cars. It tends to be used more during the summer months, allowing trucks to use anywhere on Deck 7 the rest of the year.

I noticed the doors were open on my way up from Deck 5 this time and had a quick look round - we could have passed the crossing time with a bit of footy, but I suspect the fire suppression is a bit hostile, if you're stuck down there after the doors are locked.

Don't ask me why I think this is funny. I went into the Little White Town today to get my car serviced and while I was wandering about I saw this 'shed shop.' I've never seen a 'shed shop' before. (Although, there might be one lurking about in Littleworth. A lot of rich kids have two sheds in Littleworth :heyhey:, one of the reasons I was shunned when I lived there, as I've always been shedless. Still am. :ohno:)

They waited until you'd gone before opening this emporium.

I bet you can't move for Littleworth kids in there … :urgh:

(Although 'Sheds 4 You' is a bit more trendy and catchy. :teef:)

Still makes me a bit uneasy to see that amount of open space on those things. Doesn't take much water to get in there to flop her over. As they found to their tragic cost on the Herald of Free Enterprise.

It's a long way up...

I went over on the new one that's intended for the direct-to-France sailings, avoiding the heartache of travelling through the UK.
