Enjoying a drop of red.
you won't scare the cute n cuddly animals on the marshes..................
Have they not all been deported now to make way for an absolutely vital pubic sports facility.

Not to mention a modest wedge of dosh for the good Lord Stafford...

After the drenching this morning I helped the OH move stuff for the wedding fayre in the county buildings then did a bit of shopping. Got a sort of spanishy style chicken and chorizo concoction in the slow cooker that will be ready for when she gets home, probably have with sweet potato fries. Now back to mine to sort my own place out!

Can't imagine much work going on over there at the min, considering how waterlogged my garden is!

Whilst the water levels maybe high on the Marshes today , the wildlife plateau which is about to be destroyed , is around 20 feet higher than the main railway line

If the site ever flooded every bank vault in the town would be under water

Made Hairy Bikers (dieters) chicken and mushroom risotto last night.
Bangin'.
Anyone watching the calories but who likes tasty food (Mrs T) could do a lot worse than checking out the Hairy Dieters cook book.
Particularly like the Spanish Style chicken bake.

Made a bangin' pasta sauce last night.
4 large tomatoes
3 large cloves of garlic
A heaped teaspoon of this:

Salt & Freshly ground black pepper
About a tablespoon of tomato puree
Generous glug of olive oil
Large glass of white wine

Whizzed it all up in the blender.
Easy peasy.

It's too hot to even think about food- except my family are going to be expecting to be fed this evening.

As the temperature had dropped earilier in the week I decided to do a Father's Day roast though now it's the last thing I want to eat.

Brisket being the roast of choice has been on a slow cook all day now cooling and to be served as a pulled beef salad with home made pesto with pasta spirals, cherry tomato and spring onion, crusty rolls and a beetroot salad on the side, I'm still undecided as to whether goats cheese would be a nice accompaniment or a step to far.

Bruschetta for starters and the kids even managed to drag themselves out of the paddling pool for 20 minutes to make a trifle.

All that's left to do is to liberate a bottle of lager from the freezer!

Tonight we're having salmon and prawn linguine (left over salmon from a salmon side the other day).

Cooked with a home made sauce of onion, cherry tomatoes, white wine and dill.

Takes about 20 mins start to finish.

Whereas the Cock at Woodeaves got a 2 out of 10 for food

Service was a 9
Weird, most folks say the opposite. Great food, hit and miss service.

Having said that B&P's Fox at Chetwynd Aston scores high on all fronts in my book.

Yer pays yer money...............
