Who do you prefer - Tesco or Asda?

We use all 3 major supermarkets in town, I hate the customers of Asda but like the customer service, hate the customer service of Tesco's but like the spacious store, but if it was up to me we would shop at Sainsburys all the time as I prefer it there. My wife will get different things from different places though.

Weren't Asda trumpetting in the local rags a while back how they were putting another floor into their store and were going to create x many new jobs?!?! What happened to that?

If the rumours about Asda Living are correct then I guess that's instead of the floor.

She's really nice and is always very pleasant and cheerful and if I remember rightly I'm pretty sure she's around 50 - you wouldn't think it would you?
She is nice and I remember a conversation with her when she told me her age. Can't recall it now but was certainly around the early 50 mark.

They should transfer her onto Customer Service and Misery into the warehouse out back

I would imagine that if all the large supermarkets were closed down and we had to shop from the small corner shop our food shopping bills would actually go down and actual food waste would also be reduced.

Not sure about prices going down, the supermarkets rip off the suppliers big time and drive down costs (and quality). What would happen is we would be paying a sustainable price and getting decent quality food.

Many shops have products labelled "Fair trade", I can only assume the rest of it is "Unfair trade".

I didn't say prices would go down only that our food bills would go down because we'd be more careful with our shopping and only buy what we actually need because smaller corner shops tend to charge more than the supermarkets, which have a lot of marketing gimmicks to buy more stuff than what we actually require.

Yep, supermarkets are very well versed in the art of flogging things to people that they didn't go in to buy. They also make a lot of their money selling convenience - like prepared veg and ready meals which have huge margins. Shopping in smaller shops would also go hand in hand with cooking more from scratch.

Have just been into Tesco again and their Customer Service was as totally unhelpful as ever. We wanted to know if they had a computer game in stock and there was no way they were going to check stock or tell us where it would be only that it would be out on the shelves somewhere if they had it in stock.

In the interests of fairness to this thread, I have previously worked in ASDA (admittedly for a short time) and saw no evidence of any mishandling of any items.

I'd also say, I bet if you know what goes on in lots of other places you'd never want to eat in restaurants, take aways, fresh food etc!...
Here Here, I'd Like to say that I work on Produce at ASDA and nothing like that goes on!!! Previous employees may have done things such as that but I've been there now for a year and a half and have never ever witnessed such things. xxxx
