When I opened the door to my polling station I heard a small scream. It turned out I had startled the two very nice ladies managing the crowds. I lecture my stepdaughter on the responsibility that she has to use her vote and why "I don't understand politics, it's boring" is neither cute nor cool. So I voted. Although in this case, I don't understand the politics and it's boring.

Early indications show a Tory victory with spunking cocks coming a close second
Where dost find this info Mr. M?

(apologies for not giving of my second preference - insufferably crowded ballot paper)

Have been experiencing intermittent internets all night - blocked tubes? - should really have 'spunked' i suppose, my only fault with my means of 'spoiling' was that it suggested that i may have voted 'seriously' had there been a viable alternative.

On reflection a cock in one, spunk in t'other would have made more nonsense.

Is there coverage of this election that is in any way comparable to that of the US Presidential one that i may be directed to?

Have we not been here before? Thou shalt not reveal any details of the voting response on a polling day, until the close of polling..

And, as most people aren't bothered, nobody else seems to have bothered to keep notes..

Well it isn't supposed to be political but that seems to have gone right out the window. I had a quick read up on the candidates last night and also the job of commissioner and I still don't understand it nor do I really give a monkeys, so instead of voting I walked to dog. I did pass our local polling station, which was empty apart from two octogenarians sat behind a desk looking bored to tears.

Essex turnout in PCC election 13.06%...

Gwentpcc turnout ... 14.3%. That includes any spoilt papers...

Back to you in the studio..

It will be interesting to divide the cost of these elections by the number of votes cast - particularly in the austere times.

Difficult to find a figure for the cost that one might be confident in yet, though...

The money is spent - like a cartridge - the future is a country with a confused mix of private and public policing depending on which county you cross into. Plod and Private Security firms working together in harmony in the interest of the shareholders - confused? try being a desk sergeant..
