71%. Its spun as it was a lot higher due to people deferring tickets, but I disagree. Those people deferred, they would have still gone if they didn't.
Also worth noting capacity at the Castle was larger too and so audience size is even more significant.
You may as well say it lost over half...
Walked past the old wilko today, couldn't believe how quick poundland turned it around.
There's some clear bodges - mainly signs but actually looks pretty decent and has tonnes of stock.
Theo is out of the woodwork again today.
It seems like, rather than just decide not to make an abohtant waste of public money to take the case to judicial review, Theo instead spouted on Politics Midlands that ofcourse, its only not going to judicial review becuase the council is now a labour...
I think so, but one that's fresh and new. That's not to say get rid of the traders now and start a fresh, but to nurture newer stalls that locals could support.
Stafford has some very large gaps in the high street that could be filled with a decent market stall.
The council have (or are in the process of obtaining a building for the market)
It was going to be the old marks and sparks. That didn't happen, it was too expensive.
My bet is still on using the front end of tye guildhall. It could 'spill out' into the town square.
Bums on seats this year, dramatically down from an admittedly artificially high last year due to covid. But most importantly also down on 2019 which was a hard sell being Merchant.
This isn't official stats, just what seating plan numbers suggested super close to the performance times.

They're was a hope this would be complete (despite the September date) ready for Shakespeare at the Gatehouse, but that's looking like it's completely off the cards considering that opens 2 weeks this coming Friday....
Work has started to fill in the paving this week, I think now the electrics etc that were being redone pace has started to pick up.
that said, the colours have surprised me a little. They're an interesting palette, a lot brighter than the concept images suggested.
Yup B&M is still at Queens and I'd be surprised if they left despite the shop certainly seeing better days!
Both companies were formed around the same area of the UK but both are owned by different companies. HB - TJ Morris and B&M - Simon and Bobby Arora who also own Heron Foods.

When poundland, home bargains, a cancer research shop and greggs opens Queens will be full once again.
A shame its not the same for the town centre, but it will be good to see the retail park filling back up again
Planning permission in to turn the old M&S store into apartments, retaining a small retail store on the ground floor at the front.
The council were saying they intended to move the market there and so clearly plans have changed.
My bets still on the front section of the Guildhall being turned...
True, to an extent but there remains footfall. Some Saturday's it is a pleasant surprise how much footfall their is. I never expected the cafe in the park to do as well as it seems to be doing but I'm thrilled to be proven wrong.
Poundland in particular also go for the low rent, low footfall...
I've long thought the medium sized unit next to b and m would be the perfect fit for a poundland. Poundlands want to be bigger to accommodate their freezer, homeware and clothing ranges and so seems like an ideal spot.
I can't see them being drawn to queen's being honest. I don't think it will...
