Cats.

My cats now demand 'work biscuits' every time I go to work. I work shifts, as does minime, husband works normal hours, so this means the cats are having breakfast biscuits, then possibly 3 lots of work biscuits if all of us start at different times... I'm not sure how this happened, & how they trained us into doing this......

I used to think I had too much furniture, but I am steadily losing chairs.

I have been under continuous supervision since 2pm yesterday. No picture, but the one from the 'T.V.' thread last night will suffice.

At 5am, there was a suggestion that I might like to get up early, but I declined, insisting on waiting until 8am. This decision was accepted and she graciously aided my return to slumbering mode by lying on my shoulder and doing a gentle impression of a motorboat in my ear.

We've just got up and she's had her breakfast, before popping out to check the surrounding area - which shows her dedication to her duties, as it is currently -5C here at the moment.

After more snow yesterday and last night, I went out to re-clear the paths and start up the fire in the Shed.

It has been clear that site security has not been neglected over the last few days, even though I had not actually seen the cat since the snow started. An expanding network of patrol routes could be easily discerned around the whole premises.

I was apprehended by one of these patrols on the way back from the Shed and she is now (very sensibly) sunbathing in the kitchen

I'm aware that cats have rather less of an omnivore digestive arrangement than we do, and I suspect that they know what's what, but, I am wondering if I may have to leave the room halfway through tonight's UFO episode, if the bit of cheese omelette that the cat has just had has "repercussions of an olfactory nature".

I nipped out to close the front gate whilst things cooked and returned to find a guest sitting by the stove in the kitchen...

Earlier today, she was kind enough to demonstrate to me that the (I thought) random pile of dusters that I had left by the sink were actually the correct size, shape and structure of an ideal cat bed.

Any suggestions on food for very fussy cats.
. I have 3 cats, 1yr, 10yrs & 16yrs old. They have become EXTREMELY fussy with food just lately. They usually have purina biscuits at breakfast then a wet meal of Purina gravy pouches at night (other treats as & when) ... The gravy pouches are important as the 2 older girls get urinnary problems if they eat too much dry biscuits.

Theyve all been leaving their wet food, so we've tried other brands.... Whiskers, Felix (they throw up unless it's soup) Butchers, own brand premium (not basic), tonight we tried webbox
.. but again they seem unimpressed
.. I'm running out of ideas, help!

*Cats have cat milk available, and chicken broth, but not so fussed on the broth

When our cat became like this & would only like gravy type food ( Vet said give her whatever she will eat) she would “always” like fish that we had for a meal, that would typically be some fresh Cod / Smoked Cod from the fresh counter in a supermarket and she would always woof it even as she became more poorly.

We have 3, they're all fussy, we need gravy/saucy meals, jelly doesn't help
They like fish, but it doesn't give the amount of liquid they need.

@Cue any advice? You have posher cats than my moggies? What do they like?

Well…

Bloo’s recently changed over to various pate and mousses as he’s getting on in age and is missing many of his teeth so soft is good (and full of liquid).

We were using Mon Petit for breakfast, Sheba or Gourmet Soup for Dinner and Gourmet Perle. Now he’s on Sheba Salmon Pate in the morning, Nature’s Creations Mousse for dinner and these weird trapezoids from Gourmet for overnight. He’s on Hills K/D dry for his (stable!) CKD.

Whiskers and Felix are mostly crap food anyway, if they have a refined taste they won’t like it.

Maybe try Applaws, but all 3 could be environmental. They might not like the bowls, might not like your washing up liquid, etc. Bloo has a plastic bowl for dry and porcelain bowls for wet food and I have to double clean them to ensure there’s no stale smell as that can upset him too. See if maybe they don’t like where the food is served, or maybe don’t want to eat together.

If you have cats with urinary problems make sure you have a fountain or two as that promotes drinking a lot more water, though don’t be surprised when the number of blocks of piss in the litter box increases too.

I will say we’ve never had much luck with the super fancy stuff with Bloo. He’s got some IBD so some of them can be a bit rich for his stomach.

They didn't like webbox, I think il try applaws next, as they've had Mon petit & wouldn't eat that either! Cats! 🤨🤔

All 3 of them being fussy really does point to something environmental really. How long has this been going on for?

Cats will generally eat anything if they get too hungry…

I've tried plastic & porcelain, nothing seems to make a difference
But you're right about where their food is served, our eldest was his by a car years ago & had to recover in a dog crate, she had special food with tablets in do always ate in her crate....it's now a kind of bedroom for her, she has a bed, litter & water in their, but won't eat unless we put her food in their... A few weeks ago I tried to get rid of her 'bedroom' but nope, she refused to eat unless her food was in there. She sits by it at night, waiting to go to bed... 🙄🙄🙄
