Coronavirus.

It's the time spacing as well as physical distancing. If masks worked, why would you still need loads of empty seats and 2 metre distancing?
They've used this whole period to minimise services and use covid as an excuse to crush things even further. If they really wanted to improve things, why do they continue to restrict services at out own hospital and push us elsewhere while using the excuse of services now being under other authorities? Without covid they would still be cutting. With covid they are using it as an excuse to accelerate things.
Wilfully accepting everything you are told to do rather than questioning things that seem wrong lets people trample all over you. When the WHO treaty comes in, loads of those who pipe up with "it's for our own good" will be in a rage when they get restricted yet again! So called experts talking down to people with "Don't you know how things work?" will be increasingly likely to get a bloody nose.
So, again, your problem isn't covid it's the government? In which case you shouldn't have an issue with others that follow the guidelines either, as they are irrelevant in your eyes. In which case why are you always posting anti vaxxer stuff?

EDIT: Also, measures aren't binary. Each has a risk reduction factor, how many you use chooses how much you reduce the risk. It's not a case of if masks worked, it's a case of masks plus distance = better than masks or distance.

Apologies, Gilbert, we all know how much you support vaccination.

Then you have no reason to be critical of this vaccination drive, if you are not against vaccinations in general.

I know a common criticism (which I can understand) is "it happened too fast" but the difference between this and a vaccine that might take 5 years to produce is that usually you have a wait of months between every individual stage and you have less people doing the physical work so it takes longer. The concept is exactly the same as any other production line that suddenly has an influx of money and manpower. No corners were cut in terms of safety measures and, in the case of the AZ vaccine, it was based on existing technology so much of the hard work had already been done.

Wilfully accepting everything you are told to do

Just to touch on an older post...

I started wearing a mask before it was even recommended by the government, never mind compulsory.

I didn't stop wearing one when the government stopped recommending their use.

I had to overcome a bit of anxiety to wear a mask to my last gig as I was abused at the previous one for it and I am usually one of very few people wearing one so always feel a pressure to conform.

What of the above looks to you like "doing as you're told"?

"Why do we have social distancing if masks work?" is like asking "why do we have airbags if seatbelts work?"

This has been explained to Gilbert countless times however so he won't take it in.
In some ways his brain is like a sponge, in others a brick.

I'm not caught in this vortex of "do as I'm told" rather than thinking for myself like you little happy clappers! Same 5 or 6 people agreeing with each other and towing the line, while firing off snide comments. As predictable as your behaviour. Covid figures are now below 5000 and dwindling so you'll have to keep this thread going or find somebody else to pick on.

When the what now?

Unfortunately, last week a small child sneezed directly into my eyeballs. Now that i have lost 100% of my immune capabilities, what would once have been but a mild irritation, has meant that i am now actually dead.

I'm trying not to let it get me down too much, but let me tell you, if that WHO treaty comes in i'll be in a right rage if i'm restricted yet again.

I think i've left my pants in the oven.

Where's my spatula?

There are currently almost 7000 in hospital, that's 20,000 routine admissions lost. Or do you mean 5000 new ones this week? That's 700 per day, so every day covid removes 2000 routine admissions from hospitals. The numbers are dropping which is great, waiting lists are still rising though as even at todays figures that's 5% of total capacity used for covid.

The world of delusion! What's it like thinking you are right about everything? The world thinking differently to you little lot is growing by the day. I hadn't been on this thread until just before page 300 and I only recently looked back through it. I can see why others haven't said much!

None of us have said we're right, we've just said all the evidence says you're wrong and you refuse to debate anything you post so there is no chance of us changing our minds.

Take the image you posted the other day for example, highlighting chimpanzee adenovirus. You posted no text, just the image, so all we can do is assume what you mean. That assumption is that you saw a link between that and monkey pox, which was obviously laughed at for many reasons. You may have a point somewhere in your head, but what you put out on the forum was nonsense, so of course we think we're right. If you think there really is a link try to articulate it, maybe you have something, but just posting that image made you look stupid. The fact you always ignore anyone that questions anything you post makes people assume you aren't able to back any of them up, so again people will assume you're wrong.

My main confusion is you insist your issues are down to the lack of services available due to covid then deride anyone that tries to take measures to reduce them spreading it. More covid = less services for everyone else, it's a very simple equation.
