Lost Cat - North End

Did he have trouble pooping @sasaparilla? This is the only poop she's done in 9 days - although she didn't eat at all for the 4 days she was in the vets & is now only eating very small amounts...Husbands Fed up of me keep going on about it!

@kyoto49 I forgot to answer....none of the cats are chipped, its our own stupid fault that she was in the vets for 4 days without us knowing. Strangely she was taken to the vets that we use, & they didn't recognise her either even after treating her broken leg in early summer!

I can seriously recommend getting the cats chipped, not only for if they get lost so can be easily identified etc, but when our Karlo was knocked down on the road last christmas he managed to crawl in to a garden to die. When the people who owned the house found his body 2 weeks later they rang the borough council who not only removed his body but scanned for a chip. As a result of this we at least found out what had happened to him and had some closure so I really do recommend getting it done. It's cheap too, only about £30 a cat.

I agree, its one of those things that we keep meaning to do, but other bills crop up....we meant to get it done when Sophie broke her leg in early summer, but then as she hardly ever leaves the house & Pheobe isn't allowed out, it got put off again...

Sophie had her vets check up today, she can walk in a lopsided fashion although she did fall over a couple of times, & everything else seems to be working ok...She's still confined to her crate/cage &her next check up is in 3 weeks ...

I would just like to say thank you to @Gramaisc for adding all the pictures of Soph, as I'm unable. Thank you

Is the vet pleased with her then @littleme?
Yes @Lucy the vet said she was pleased, I was a bit alarmed at her toppeling over, but the vet says she will be less wobbly when she gets to leave the crate & walk round properly. :)

Now, how do I convince Sophie & Tommy that they are now 'indoor' cats....

I am SO SO pleased for you @littleme

I know first hand what a worry it is.

We had 2 cats but now only have one.
Our dear little burmese got knocked down and after numerous operations we still lost him. It was a few years back now but I can still remember it like it was yesterday.

personal opinion I know but we still decided to let our other cat be an outside cat.
We thought that if you could ask a cat if they would want to live a long time but never ever go outdoors and experience a real tree or freedom that they would say "No" .

But, like I said its each to their own and not an easy choice.

I agree with Carole. Cats are outdoor animals and they need to go outside. We let ours out just keep him in at night.

I kept mine in for ages, but they wanted to be out. They were always scared of the road though. Molly stays in most of the time now she's an only child, as next doors cats sit waiting for her to come through the cat flap. If I locked her in though she'd go mad.

I'm so happy for you that Sophie did so well with the vet today.

I could argue against the outdoor cat thinking till I was blue in the face but, at the end of the day they are your cats, you decide.
I'm so glad she's feeling better :)

I'm very glad to hear of her progress. Sorry I haven't said anything before but I find it difficult in the circumstances.

My cat spider was knocked down and survived Vet said this'll either make him learn or it will happen again, luckily he learnt that was 6 years ago and touch wood he hasn't attempted to go out the front drive since, he just hangs around the back garden and sits on top of next doors garage to have a look whats going on over the fence

My cat was getting bullied and then developed a fear of outside, we have a cat flap and he is welcome to go out when he wants, he then started shitting in the bath, so we got him a litter tray and now he hardly ever goes out.

Did he wait for you to get out?

I'm still worried & I still think that she may not last, although everyone else in the family now seems to think she is fixed, or they're just ignoring how poorly she is. :(
