Admin edit: Removed offensive personal attacks.
Yeah, sorry about that. I tend to say what I really think after a few beers, rather than moderate it. My beliefs still stand, but I have no issues with that being edited out. Anyone who read it knows how I feel (as if they didn't already!)

The fact that the rest of the posters feel the need to be openly offensive about me makes me wonder why I bother.
i did not swear at you and i have tried on numerous occasions to understand your point of view...that fact that i dont hasnt given me the right to call you names and to my recollection i have not.

whether other people accept that mantle is up to them- but i do not feel that you have trested me with the respect that i have you.

Also, the implication that because I have a low income means that I cannot enjoy the sexual freedom that women have had to fight for whereas those on higher incomes can is offensive and degrading to me.
actually, its called personal responsibility and nothing to with your income.

i dont expect free contraception, im grateful for the service that is available via my GP, but if it came to paying for it and if i couldnt afford it...abstinence would be the way forward. i would take personal responsibility not to bring an unwanted child into the world or to run the risk of contracting/spreading some awful disease.

i dont rely on handouts just because they are available....when so many abuse a service 'just because its there' it ceases to be sustainable and everybody suffers as services are cut or funding diverted from other worthy causes.

It needs to be independently economically viable. There's no point farming them if we just end up subsidising the farmers instead.

Well I'm sick of all this "sponger" dissing anyway.

It's all those foreigners you should be slagging off, I was born here so I have a god-given right to sponge off the British "benefits" system and there's nothing you can do about it. I have had someone who was going on about foreigners tell me that I'm allowed to milk the system because I was born here so there. Of course, I think they're full of shit - I thought they were taking all of our jobs instead, LOL...

Anyway, all I have to say on this whole issue is: who fooking cares? You get on with your life, I'll get on with mine. The queen gets far more taxpayers' money than I do and the banks have sucked up more government funding than the "spongers" have. Besides, by getting a job I would be depriving some poor soul who just got made redundant, probably with a mortgage and kids to look after, and I just couldn't live with myself if I took their job.
Lunar, I am quoting the above post in its entirety, as this is the exact moment that the thread took a turn for the worse. I am not referring to the first part of your post, so please don't accuse me of taking you out of context - I realise that first bit about the conversation you had is a joke and that is not what I am referring to.

Prior to this post, the thread had been a lively debate about the article in the original post. You made a post giving your point of view (see here) where you compared it to your personal situation. There is nothing wrong with this, and even though some of the more vocal members of The Forum would normally turn on you for it they recognised that there is a difference of opinion here and there was no point retreading old ground.

However, you insisted on making this thread about you (have a look at how often "I" appears) by making the above post. You haven't once mentioned the woman in the original article. You have gone from comparing your situations (completely valid and useful) to making this about how you feel hard done by. You cannot accuse people of "ganging up" on you if you deliberately turn the focus to yourself!

Lunar is not the only one behaving badly here. I would ask that you all draw a line under this, and continue to discuss the original subject matter in this thread.

Thanks, love you all :D

+1 for some beautiful horrible puns. And for changing the goddamn subject.

A simple battle royale would do, although I suspect most will be too lazy to move when their zone goes live and lose their head. Still, I'd watch it!

What about a running track, where a 'zone of death' follows the fatties? Slow down too much and your head esplodes! Added bonus of the downed lard arses becoming hurdles for the next lap!

The Nigerian police did something along these lines once when a plane was three times over-booked. They took the 300 people to the far end of the runway and told them that the first 100 to reach the plane could take the flight. On the spot justice.

people who say "healthy food is more expensive" are the sort of people who think "healthy food" means buying weight watchers ready meals instead of tesco value ready meals

I got 1l of Innocent smoothie for 95p today. It doesn't happen often and that's about the cheapest it goes, but it's worth it...
that's a bargain! i've really got into innocent smoothies of late, but even when they're on special offer at asda they're still £2 each.. i don't know what i'll do once they go back to full price - i don't fancy paying more than £2 for them, but they're sooooooo good

A mates girlfriend went to the doctor once and he weighed her and said "i'm affraid your statistically Obese" which obviously she wasn't happy about. So anyway the doctor says "you need to eat more fruit and veg"

So one weekend we go to visit and stay over and for breakfast she has 2 packets of milkybar buttons and after what the doctor told her, she proceeds to wash it down with two glasses of Innocent smoothie FFS

Exactly... or "instead of eating 10 packets of walkers crisps I ate 10 packets of weight watchers crisps and they were way more expensive"

Had my food shop delivered last night and couldn't believe I got about 10 bananas for 89p..... how can anyone say its cheaper to eat a bar of chocolate (50p) than a banana (8.9p)... its just ridiculous!

Because they want it to be, it removes blame from them and makes them the victim. Oh noes, woe is me, I'm only a horrendous fat smelly lard arse because I can't afford to eat better. Bollecks!

When I cook, I do it properly. Make shed loads, feed whoever is about and freeze a load. Now when I make a chilli, I'd say it costs as much per portion as a frozen ready meal. There are a few differences though, mine is made with all fresh ingredients, I use steak as well as steak mince, I usually use 3 different types of chilli pepper, I have several other ingredients that cost a bit but really help the flavour. Despite this blatant disregard for cost, it still comes in at a similar price to a Tesco one. Plus my idea of a portion is double theirs!

I don't do it very often, as said I'm a bit of a scrooge with my food pennies, but when I do I have a meal I know I'll love and all it takes over the cheap ass microwave one is a few hours cooking. If I keep 5 portions, all I have to do is microwave them as needed. If I made meals to the standard of a Tesco ready meal it'd cost sod all.

So all round to tek-monkeys for chilli then?? lol
Whole heartedly agree with you, i do similar with spag bol. Same thing with chilli its not difficult all you need is a little time and a bit of application. And if you dont know how to cook just turn over from Jeremy Kyle or trisha (is she still on??) on your sky box to one of the food chanels...
