Our first cat Smokey (who moved himself into my house one Christmas, when I didn't like cats at all & was adamant I only like dogs) disappeared for weeks before he came home to die, he had been a stray & I was used to him going on his travels for a few days at a time. I found him in the front garden, but I'm so afraid of death & dead things that I couldn't pick him up to bury him & had to wait for my husband to come home from work late at night - it was horrendous & I've never forgiven myself....I'm one of those that always thinks everything will be okay, and that makes me an emotional wreck when it comes to thinking of my past animals, so maybe worrying is a better state of mind to be in.
I'm still worried
I'm still worried & I still think that she may not last, although everyone else in the family now seems to think she is fixed, or they're just ignoring how poorly she is.
....everyone else is all 'ooohhh shes on the mend' & all I can think is 'she's been hit by a car, her pelvis is broken in 3 places on one side & 1 on the other, how can she possibly survive'?
Hohum, at least I seem to be good at taking care of her, she was pleased to have a fuss today...
Good news that she is enjoying a fuss today .Keep on doing what you are doing @littleme, lots of rest, fuss and treats and I'm sure she will do her best to get stronger and hopefully go on to make a good recovery. In my experience of vets, they're pretty matter of fact, so if yours is saying she's improving then she is.
Well she's eating really well now, at least as much as normal & taking much more notice of stuff going on rather than sleeping constantly. She's very glarey & grumpy though - it doesn't help that Pheobe-kitten keeps sticking her paws through the bars of the cage to steal food & water (strange kitten drinks water by dipping her paw in the water & then licking her paw)...so overall she's grupmy & but eating wellHow's she doing today @littleme?
She seems to be, although she's not impressed that we have changed all the expensive/treat foods back to normal cat food & she holds out on eating it until I sprinkle Dreamies on it.....
Poor Sophie having to put up with the other two - Pheobes about to launch herself into the tree!

You don't know how apt that is.....I've also had to be very careful taking photos of the cats/tree, bad squirrel-cat has shredded the wall paper & I refuse to re-decorate till after Christmas!
I was wondering how long your lovely looking tree is going to last, still upright and looking lovelyPoor Sophie having to put up with the other two - Pheobes about to launch herself into the tree!
Sophie is still grumpy, probably more so now as we had to move her to put the tree up - but at least she has that to look at too!I was wondering how long your lovely looking tree is going to last, still upright and looking lovely
No wonder Sophie is grumpy, she's probably thinking she'll be missing out on some fun and games ...
